Did you give all the parts a good wash before painting?

If there's any mould release left on the parts then the glue will just eat through the primer and have nothing to stick to, or the primer will just flake off where the release is compromising the bond.

I would definetly go with Steve and use a few screws to hold the bits together, can't hurt.

Bit of an update.
Glue and resin have dried and it seems to be holding together alright. I'll leave it overnight and see how it is in the morning.
I've no idea where to put screws as the trigger box is one piece so I can't get at the insides. Also the counter has been installed already so that'd be in the way.

Image

My rifle also has droopy barrel syndrome, but if you don't look at it for too long you'll not notice - I hope.
Either later tonight or tomorrow I'll give it some clear coat sealer, put on the GL slider and add some metal weathering and touch up the GL chamber as some of the silver paint got onto the black part where it shouldn't be.
I still need to cut the magazine down to size.

Rifle is now 'FINISHED'. All I want to add is the strip that goes around the bottom of the shroud by the stock. I can't make it at the moment as I don't have any tin snips.

I did some light weathering. Very subtle I think.

Review?
Well it's not a horrible pulse, but it's no way top of the line accurate.

It was relatively simple to put together, but needed some modifications. Whether that was because of a bad pull, my lack of skill or something else.
With a bit of hard work it is possible to make the rifle look decent.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd not bother and I'd save myself the hassle and get a spulse.

If there's any questions, feel free to ask.

Next will be my armour build. It's been sent but the tracking number I was given doesn't work. Hopefully it's just an error on his end and my parcel hasn't got lost or he's not BS me.

It might not be accurate but you have not done a bad job out of it

Are you happy with the result, that's the main thing!

Looked forward to your updates I will miss them now

Helen.

I am reasonably happy with the way it turned out.
I will learn from my mistakes so I can help others with their builds.

The updates for the pulse may be over, but the armour build will start soon - If it ever gets back to me.

I dont think the issue was lack of skill, i think it was whoever cast the kit. They should be banned from producing kits. You have done a good job with what you had to work with and should be proud of that. Hopefully with all that work you have put in it should serve you well until you decide to upgrade. Im already itching to get another pulse kit to build but whether that will be a spulse M41-k or if possible a matsucorp pulse.

I still love that retro style/ look that particular kit of yours has

Does the pump handle move?

It isn't glued so it can move but it's a bit tight to freely slide. I think if I was to slide it up it'd take off the paint on the GL barrel.

Would it be possible to squeeze in a rail if modified slightly? Would look well cool

Sorry just been thinking about this, what about using some rails off an old laptop dvd/cd tray?

That's certainly an idea. I'll have to look into it. Maybe another method could be used.
I can take off the GL slider so it wouldn't be a problem.

Considering what you had to work with, it looks good. 8)

If the GL falls off again, I suggest a couple of holes drilled and then screws put in at these points:

You have done a good job and should be proud of that.
I can only second that DKMax!

Good luck with the trail for the pump slide, if you're going for it.

I used an old retractable craft knife as a good g/l slide on my 1st ever PR (made of cardboard, made when I was 11!).
You dot want the stanly knife type but the type with a long thin blade that can be snapped off when dull. Simply remove all the blade, glue the g/l grip to the button slider then recess the blade housing into the bottom of the spas cage.
Works a treat and sounds cool too :)

Yep that's the type Steve :)

Make sure you don't glue the 'saftey' on 'safe' like I did the first time ;)

Looks a bit too wide to glue on. Or am I mistaken in thinking that you stick the body in the slot of the GL barrel?

GL barrel?

As reaper says, he recessed the knife body into the bottom of the Spas cage, with the button glued to the grip.

Here's where I think he means for the knife body to sit:

Yeh that's the exact idea Steve, cheers for that.

I used a thinner knife than that though. It was about 1cm wide all the way along, I saw a pack of 5 in poundland at the weekend as it goes :)

It would have to be very strong glue if you attach the grip to the button on the knife?

I just used Araldite, Thor himself wouldn't be able to break the bond.
