The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I've seen only one post on Facebook from someone who received theirs. Looks like they didn't cut any corners in regards to what they had originally planned, still has all the lights they originally showed, top removes so you can place figures inside, etc.

Yeah, I placed a pre-order as well....I'm beginning to wonder if this was a ploy to get people to suddenly submit lots of pre-orders and only THEN will we see actual product. That's a dangerous game.

I saw how much these will retail for today - wow. That's one expensive plastic toy.

Also working against it is the paint job. The most recent batch of photos of supposed final product seem to show it painted near black with the only subtleties being 'mud' on the wheels. Probably going to need a repaint...

BUT...as I think people may be tired of hearing me say, while it is FAR from perfect, it is still the best we can realistically hope for. It is half the price of the similarly scaled HCG product (and HCG had no moving parts nor any interior). I'm still in and still waiting patiently.

Harry, I agree it's expensive, but I guess the amount of detail is the cause. I've seen similarly scaled vehicles made on Hong-Kong or Japan that are half the price...but not nearly as detailed. It is what it is as the kids say. The only reason I'm interested is because I love the 1:18th scale hobby and have devoted a lot of work making a matching scaled Colonial Marine group.

Speak of the devil! Mine has just arrived at BBTS. Got my email that they are ready to ship. I will be doing a detailed review here as soon as it arrives.

Unfortunately...I have another item with a March ETA that I will wait for before I have them ship the lot out. So it may be a little bit. Good to know they are "real" though!

Does anyone have one of these yet? I'm curious to see the interior layout. I've seen the promo material but it'll be great to see how they fit everything in. :)

Mine arrived this morning. Snapped some quick photos.

Random thoughts
- It comes with a "random" figure. (You will get either Bella, Redding, or Cruz)
- The color at times has hints of green in some lights, but make no mistake this thing is CHARCOAL bordering on black. Very dark charcoal color.
- Decals are screen accurate to the "Sulaco", so that is good I guess. They might have labeled it from the "Sephora" or even a WeyYu APC as from the game.
- Lights look good (inside and out).

Overall, I still am pretty darn happy with it. So many details!

Quick shots with figures to compare:

Here are stock "hot toys snap kit" marines, the HIYA marines, and a random GI Joe I planned to customize into Gorman (but never started).

Overall, none of the figures look as good as the APC, so they kind of stand out. The hot toys marines have the most restrictive range of motion, so don't do well at all in the 'seated' position, but look best of the group overall. The HIYA and Hot toys alien warriors all look pretty good i think. I plan to display it without troopers for now.

My APC is now only 5 to 6 hours away from me at the FEDEX hub.

APC in-hand. Is it worth the money? The "worth" is in the eye of the beholder so to speak. I think it's great, but then again I love the 1:18th scale and GI Joe style action figures, so I have some vested interest. It is pretty expensive, but the smaller the company, the more expensive a big vehicle like this is going to be. Sure GI Joe vehicles don't cost nearly this much, but, they also don't have working lights and ton of interior detail like this does. Plus factor in that a small company like HIYA is probably paying through the nose for the ALIENS license, then the cost isn't really so surprising.

I think some of the interior detail may have been fudged on a bit, but since no one really knows exactly what it looked like AND trying to reconcile the interior with the exterior, the toy designers probably had to get creative with some of it. There are a few details on the exterior I fear are a bit thin and probably could break off if handled roughly (like the ladder on the back, or the screen in front of the roof light), but considering the price, I doubt this is going to end up in the hands of small children.

The overall color is off, but I'm assuming this was done as a cost-saving measure. I'm fairly certain the cost of colored plastic pellets can differ from one color to the other.

The working lights are nice, although I wonder if the roof light had to be so dam big? Also the running lights on the sides don't light up. That seems odd since they are so close to the headlights, but again, maybe doing this made it just a tiny bit cheaper overall.

The working doors, sliding chairs and swiveling guns are great, these are one feature I'm glad they didn't skimp on.

The wheels are nice and solid...and all rubber too (except for the hubs of course).

No really big issues stick out to me. The only small issue I have is that one of the chairs was inserted at a wrong angle...it has just a slight elevation to it. I could "probably" pop it out and re-mount it, but I don't want to risk breaking anything in the process, and it really doesn't effect it's use or the general look of the interior.

In the end, I'd say I'm pretty pleased with it and the price really isn't much more than the HCG version (that had no interior or working lights) or the same sized model kit that was released several years ago (that you had to assemble and paint yourself).

Man I hope they're available still if I'm ever not broke someday. I'm so glad that besides NECA there are so many other companies producing great ALIENS toys nowadays. This apc is inspiring me to sculpt some armor kits and make resin casts of them, pergaps theres a rubber that I can cast them in. Also Thinking about the possibility of creating a printable pattern that anyone can use to make a scale dropship from cardboard and fiberglass. Would also love to see someone adapt this APC for radio control.

I'm thinking this may be a limited run, although they have never said as much. I believe this because all the boxes these have shipped in have said number XX out of 500. Mine for instance was 440 out of 500. If that is true, I don't know if there will be another run since they had so much trouble getting this off the ground in the first place, but if it proves popular enough, who knows.
