The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well it felt wrong to cover Thumper's graffiti but I preserved photos. Sadly color matching the patterns was rough. But you know what, I like the secondhand look and most of the bits are covered in graffiti.

I gotta search out the armor font to do the name stencils and I'm pretty much done. I want to give a big thanks to Thumper and Doc Vito and I do hope to meet them both, all of us dressed for the occasion at a future drop one day.

I guess I just need to finish the M41A conversion and get the little bits. If I'm wearing it wrong at all let me know... I mean it was easy to figure out but not sure.

Helmet. I have another too, it has the Three Stooges quote, "SMILE: Killcam #1" over the camera and the WY logo with "Hired Gun" underneath (A throwback to the Vietnam "LBJ Hired Gun" that was somewhat popular in those times)

Some of those are made up. Guess the real geek references and get uh.. a cookie?

My nod to my other geeky passion BSG. This same expression with a few word changes, was related to me by a friend's father who was a Marine Captain. Somewhat funny story to go along with it.

Anyone who plays Warhammer 40k and frequents /tg/ on 4chan knows of the Angry Marines. Google images them. You'll find out what they're all about...

The collection's home for now:

The chestplate is going to get the Chang Beer logo with "Defender of the Chang" and that'll do me for graffiti apart from the name stencils...

Other than the ab pad hanging a bit low, looks all good. :)

I thought so, How can one adjust that, just kinda tape up the straps a little?

Depends. Various peeps have different methods. Some use duct tape around the top, some move the waist strap higher, some (like me) fitted braces(suspenders) to it. Will post pic in a mo. :)

Looking good Marine!

I like the multicam.

As for the campaign history- Gateway Station is obvious, but the only other name I recognize is Charybdis; it was the name of a spaceship in TNG's "The Royale".

"Twilight Cruise" better have nothing to do with Twilight!

Great armor! after I saw PVB's idea I also have one, maybe some velcro inside the armor and some on the ab pad? might not cost as much, plus not as much work. But PVB's idea is great aswell

MCRD San DIego: real
Gateway: Aliens
Charybdis: I made up but +1 for making the connection!
Thorsifinni's World: Home of the 34th FIST in the STARFIST novels
Orion's Gate: Made up
Pollux IV and V: Star Trek
LV-239: Made up
Cadian Gate: Warhammer 40k
Twilight Cruise: Navy name for the last tour of duty you do aboard a ship prior to separation or more commonly, retirement.

Hmmm interesting ideas...

I'll give them shots. I have plenty of velcro. The bonus to being in the Air Wing. Flight Equipment has more velcro than they know what to do with.

As for the "I love the Corps..." story: Like I said something similar but a little more vulgar adorned the flak jacket of a Marine in the unit with a friend's father (Marine Captain). Said Marine took shrapnel in the arse during an arty/mortar attack and was taken to "sickbay." They put him to the side (not even taking the time to get his clothes/gear off) since he wasn't a critical case but nurses occasionally checked on him and then commenced to giggling, even bringing others in and they would all giggle, later he asked why and they said the slogan he had on his flak jacket was the reason...
