The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

All,

i've gutted the kango, aquired all the screw on bits (hama etc), but keep getting let down by promises of the 'pump widget' that never turn up, so can anyone give me hits tips, photos etc of how to mock one up. I'm sure it must be an easy shape to make out of plastic. Any help guys, on this last bit.

I started to make one out of bits of wood, and a plastic cap of a small spray can:

It's a bit rough, but I thought it might be passable when painted and finished, as long as people don't look too closely. :)

The "real" thing turned up here when I got to this stage, so I haven't done anything more since. I might finish it off just in-case I never get the actual part.

I'm sure you can do a better job than mine.

Paul.

Maybe this will help.

M.Rush created the 3-D render and I added the measurments for my personal notes.

As far as the real item, I only wish someone would come forth w/ the name of the manufacturer or even just a model number, as the photo that was posted has a piece of tape over that area.

If someone were to do that, we would find them pretty easy.
I've looked through hundreds, perhaps thousands, of pics of sphygmomanometers and can't even find one with a 150mmHg dial. They all go up to 300mmHg.

The thread you seek is here.

It's nearly fallen off the end of the board.

It's not a pump - it's an aneroid. That's why there's only one inlet.

The guy who found it say's it's from a sphyg (blood pressure guage). I don't doubt him since he's seen it and knows what he's talking about but the dial is a short scale so if he hadn't mentioned I would never have figured it for a sphyg.

The tape apparently wasn't covering the manufacturer... It was covering the name of the lab that owned it.
IIRC.

I've been looking for this part for a long time now, and even with the thread where it was identified http://forum.alienslegacy.com/viewtopic.php?t=2139 , it's been like looking for a needle in a haystack.

This item looks identical to the connector on the bottom of the gauge. But none of the sphygmomanometers from the same manufacturer come close. http://www.miami-med.com/tycos-replacement-parts-and-accessories.htm

Has anyone else sourced this part?

I have spent ages looking for this thing, in the end I decided to make a CG 3D model, once its complete (should be done in a day or so) I will use the rapid prototype machine at work to get a physical copy. From then on I will cast it and get resin copy.

Ok, well here is an update, the CG model is done I just need to find the time at work to get it made on the rapid prototype.

Additionally, this is an ongoing piece and there could well be mistakes, so if anybody could get highly accurate measurements of the real thing or from the MR motion tracker then that would help greatly.

This was done on pro desktop, easy to use and it talks to the rapid prototyper without any fuss.
