The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

OK, so I have decided that my next vehicle needs to look more like a dropship and less like a family station wagon/SUV. So I have decided on the new Jeep

However, it is missing the nose art. Would anyone else be interested in a magnetic (removable) Bug Stomper decal for their vehicle? I am looking into the printing costs now.

Depending on cost I'd take one or two.

I think i can get 8 six inch decals for $70 + shipping. So figure $10 each. Does anyone have a good screen cap of the dropship art as well as a hi-res logo?

And am image I got off a forum (may have been this one):

Put me down for a decal (if you will ship to the UK?) :)

That is enough to make a run.

Here is a quick mock up. I added USCM, but we may want to be more screen accurate.
If someone wants to do the artwork, I will buy their decal.

Actually Joe, I would prefer one that was accurate to the film TBH. I think it looks fine though but would probably only be interested in the normal version.

Cheers

OK, the logo Kev posted is wider, so there will be 6 per sheet and 2 sheets for a total of 12. We can always order more.

With all due respect to Kevin, that image isn't 100% screen accurate (forgive me Kev!).

That's a picture of a plaque (plack?) made by Gemini Studios several years ago (I have one myself).

I have artwork that is screen accurate....BUT, it will take some work to get it useable. May take several weeks.

OK, no rush. I assume being accurate is worth the wait, but I do like the Gemini artwork. Sounds like we would need permission anyway to use it.
I sent the art to the printers last night to get a quote, but there is no urgency on my part to have them printed.

Well, the Gemini picture can be used if it is high enough rez. I assume the place you are thinking of having do these will just print the image directly upon magnetic material.

And I don't know if you need to worry about getting permission from Gemini, I looked into this a year or so ago and found out the creator/owner of Gemini...died, several years ago.
He is survived by a wife and two children, but I'm not sure anyone knows where they are now if you wanted to contact her to get permission.
And I don't know how the rights to stuff like this ends up in a case such as this. Did the "rights" go to his wife/kids? Did they simply pass on with him? It wasn't a 100% reproduction from the screen used image, so that may be considered "intellectual property"?

I've got that image too. Looks like they used the crew jacket artwork and redrew it. I can take that, scan it in at a higher rez and then drop the color in.

I just need to be told what format the file needs to be in and what colors, crew jacket or dropship nose art colors.

Holy schnikes, that looks great! Did you import the image into an outline program and outline it?

I was doing it the hardway, re-inking an zerox image, which I was going to scan into Corel and outline from there. That's the "long way around" I know, but my computer wasn't doing a good job of outlining the imported image.

OK, I did this in just a couple of hours. I think someone with a better art program could do a much better job.
It was kind of fun in a "stay in the lines" kind of way.
Just print out the above black and white and grab some crayons and markers.
