The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So while browsing my local Burlington Coat factory, I couldnt help but notice camo EVERYTHING. Maybe its just the cyclical nature of fashion or perhaps a certain 'reality TV' show has popularized camo again, but I am seeing new patterns on stuff out there. These 2 pants caught my eye in particular.

Obviously not saying they are 'screen accurate', but they were close enough to cause me to double take. Unfortunately they are pants only with no matching tops. But they are off-the-shelf CHEAP items, so I figured I would give everyone a heads up to hit your local discount clothing stores.

The second set in particular was only $13 so I just had to scoop one up. I think I am going to play around with the idea of painting the white 'frogs' on them (possibly over the green swatches) to get them even closer.

Not bad for $13-$20 though, right?!

Those are the closest off the shelf alternatives I've seen yet!

I actually saw a "sleeveless" top at a place called "21 Forever" (or was it "18 Forever"? ). The camo pattern was 90% close to the USCM pat. It had the vertical orientation and the little "frogs" looked nearly identical!

The big difference was the colouring; it used black instead of white for the frogs, and had green in it rather than purplish-brown.

Couldn't take a pic at the time. I would have bought it if it wasn't for the wrong colours and the fact that they wanted $29.99 for it.

They may not have had matching tops, but the pants alone would be good for someone wanting to do a "Drake-ish" smartgunner.

Here's the one I was talking about (seems like they "do" have a full sleeve as well as sleevless version):

A little too green to be USCM, but I couldn't get over the pattern!

I've always thought the pattern is very close to the old ERDL pattern.

It's a pity that these bloody 'fashion' companies don't just make some!!

I assume they don't do a trousers to go with it Kev??

No unfortunately. The camo pants they sell look nothing like this pattern.

I guess having a matching set of camo pants and shirt would be too militaristic looking in the fashion world.

I got both from Burlington Coat factory store.
The shirt is http://www.lordandtaylor.com/webapp/wcs ... QgodP1gA4Q
The pants is labeled as ReFuel but I can't find the spec on on-line.
Both together cost $30.

I need to know what you guys think so I can decide to keep or return them.

To me those last couple of fatigue patterns are no better or worse than Polish Desert Camo.

I really like the "Forever 21" shirt Kevin posted. Too bad they don't do trousers...

Well, as long as the blobs and splotches of the camo are frogs and leaves, and not any other "shapes" 8)

I guess cosplay and reenacting are very very different.
