The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

That clip is SOOOOoooo slow to load. Might be just me though.

I wonder if, and how long it will be before that live-fire Pulse Rifle 'transforms' into an original prop over time?

Also I notice it's in a G&P shroud, I hope Gearbox didn't make the PR shrouds in the game that shape; with the really square & blocky rear section. I remember when the Rebellion version of AvP came out the grips on all the PRs were natural wood because the one in the Technical Manual (which was made a few years after Aliens as a commission for someone) was wood. Someone there didn't do their research! ;)

The same show as posted by mrwhitethc back at the end of August?

The gameplay segment we see looks exactly like the bit previously 'leaked'.

This review of Dead Space in Variety references Aliens quite a bit. The game itself is getting some outstanding reviews.

Right, who have we got in Texas who can go along to this?

http://kotaku.com/5085767/gearbox-seeks ... s-in-texas

Gearbox are asking for focus group testers, and mention the Colonial Marines game

Wow been searching around the net about more about this game and the company thats developing it is hurting pretty bad. There was talk about another cancelation, but not yet, so lets keep our fingers crossed that it actually makes it to the store shelves....

Makes sense for them to tighten the belt naturally. I feel sorry for the 15-26 people they laid off :(

I think if they did cancel 'Colonial Marines' it would hurt them more because A LOT of people are looking forward to this game.
I'm hoping it will help get them through the economic crisis with high sales of it.

I'm sure we'll be available for free advertising for them right?

I'm really hoping the delays are cause they want to make sure the game is as polished as possible.

I'm also wondering about keyboard/mouse support for the consoles, especially the PS3.

I doubt there will be, so PC version for me!

Update
This long delayed first person shooter will finally hit in 2010 and i couldnt be happier though the game hasn't ever been shown to the press, my analysis syggests that Aliens colonial marines seems to be the most ambitious ,authentic attempt yet at capturing james cameron's and ridleys scotts vision in a video game setting . Speaking as a diehard fan of the first three films , Colonial Mrines is exactly the kind of game ive been waiting for . its delay has been heartbreaking .
Taht said , the game has surely seen major changes since it was annouced back in 2006 . Th ecore premise is presumably unchanged . You'll outfit a squad of high tech marines with pulse rifles , flamethrowers ,and smartguns , then lead them into battle against hordes of acid bleeding xenomorph killers on the starship sulaco . the script is being written by veterens of battlestar galactica , so ther's hope for a gripping tale . Otherwise , colonial marines remain an enigma, so check back next year . Adios muchachos

quoted from september 09 gamepro magazine .. but i still DTS

This is one on my to get list... not too many games hit that... and with Gearbox's track record with Brothers in Arms if they keep the squad shooter element... I will be impressed. FPSs are fun... tactical shooters are STUPENDOUS. But thats just me.

Sarcastic warning!

Dont want it to rain on the parade but man they must have hade a hard time imagining that plot. Im ok for computer games but cheech, that must be really tough coming up with that idea with Aliens on Sulaco. How about on Narcissus instead a lot more claustrophobic.

What are these people thinking. First AvP games with A and P and a LV426 that went up in flames and now this. If they have a budget and graphic/programming competence why not do something cool. Better idea, why don’t they hire me, Ill do a plot for you for a T-shirt. Its like frigging Nintendo taking over the world. Why don’t give the Marines superpowers while at it?

Ok Im finished, thanks, I guess I just had to let off some steam being collected over the years (last 20).

That's because "Brown Bess" is a type of musket.
"Bess Brown" is the name of the colour.

Try googling for "Bess Brown", including the quotation marks.

Here in Canada, we have a little show called EP Daily, I'm sure a lot of you know about it... Well, on Nov. 12th show, they did a small segment on "Aliens vs. Predator" video game coming out sometime next year. There are other nifty segments to watch as well.
Here is the link to watch: http://g4techtv.ca/
Just click the "play video" and you can watch the entire episode.
