The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Knowing Gearbox's Track Record, this game is bound to kick major amounts of ass when it's released.

You know, I nabbed myself a subcription when the Ghostusters issue came out. I was nearly catatonic when I saw it on shelves. I even have two copies, one for eading on for keeping sealed.

Point is, my subscription is about to pay off, again.

WOOHOOO!

Nope, still going.

Earlier today I asked my inside source at Sega about the game and he said this:

Quote:
I've seen it running at various stages over the last year or so. I've not seen it recently, but when I last saw it it was looking very nice. The sound really blew me away, they've got it just right and it makes you feel really uneasy!

Gearbox/Sega said in Dec 06 that it would be on "next-gen systems", so that probably means Xbox 360 and PS3, but not definite news for either/both.

You guys should read some of the comments that have been left.

Let's just say there are not too many fans of this franchise.

I don't own an X-box and does not look like I'll be owning one any time soon- so sucks to be me.

Chris

What were you hoping it'd be on? :)

It may also get done on PC, as the developing on both PS3 and 360 generally means easy PC port too.

Regarding game developers producing more console games than PC games, the fact of the matter is that it's all a matter of money. Consoles have fixed hardware specs. All 360's are more or less identical to each other. All PS3's are similarly identical to each other. Developers love the fact that they don't have to account for the countless hardware setups on people's PC's. It costs them much less to produce.

Unfortunately, easy PC port does not mean good PC port... *sobs*

It'll also most likely be hugely dumbed down in terms of the controls and content.

Does it count if you use 1337 ironically as a statement of your revulsion at the state of your generation..?

No, you're free and clear. I myself say leet and pwned ironically. But then it's not my generation...

Oh gods... I have a generation. I'm so old!

Gearbox has, as far as I can remember back to Half-Life: Opposing Force and Blue Shift, always based their games around the PC platform. That was what happened with Brothers in Arms (it got ported to consoles after a PC release), and I'm sure it will be what happens with the Aliens game.

I've got my fingers crossed, but until I see finished copies of the game hit the shelf for PC, I'll keep my cynical head on. :)

i got a chance to check out this feature yesterday and its pretty killer. definately snag a copy of this when it hits the newsstand. it immensely extensive with lots of screens, concept art and some discussion of the gameplay and development.

and to answer the earlier question, it will be released on PS3, 360, PC
