The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Sega wanted me to xeno up at their stand at EB Games Expo for the release of this game. I cried a little bit inside when I had to tell them I had sold the suit on. And they didn't want any marines at the opening. :(

Well, I've been playing it all day, and I'm liking it. Like the film itself, it took a long time before I actually saw the Alien, but (also like the film) what I was seeing was really fantastic.

Some observations:

Great graphics
Amazingly well done environment
Great sound
Once the Alien is around, the music starts getting heard more and really makes you panic
The Alien looks good (I'd originally thought it didn't, but once you are in the room with it, it seemed better)
The cut scenes are a bit jumpy, which is odd, as the game is smooth when playing it
The sound of the motion tracker coming out the controller (and the controller flashing when it detects something) is a nice touch

I thought that Aliens: CM was also excellent, so maybe I get into Alien(s) games more than most people, but I'm happy so far. I'm about 7-8 hours in and I've just got the Motion Tracker and met the Alien once, though I have been taking my time and looking around a lot. I did get a bit stuck for a while at one point and did a bit of head scratching for 30 mins or so.

I can't get the Nostromo DLC yet, but I guess it's not in the shop yet, as my code didn't work.

My Trophies aren't showing up yet, so I guess thay haven't been added to the PSN Trophy system yet. The PS3 always showed them, but I'm new to the PS4, so it might work in a different way.

I'm also playing the game. It has all the hallmark of Alien but with added details.

It's going well so far guys!

I pre-ordered, and they said we would definitely get it by the release day, and since posting today isn't 100% guaranteed for tomorrow (though it should be in 99% of cases) they had to post on Friday, which meant I got it on Saturday :D

I've had several games early. Possibly every pre-order I've ever done.

My Trophies showed up yesterday, but I still couldn't download the Nostromo DLC. It should appear in the next day or two.

Where is the non-spoiler one? I couldn't find it in the simulated combat drop area. I'm really on the fence about the game; I'd like to know if its worth getting. I'll admit to still feeling burned by ACM. If it is worth getting, I'd like to know without too many spoilers myself.

I REALLY liked A:CM, so I'm not sure which I like more. This is a VERY different game.

If you don't mind doing a lot of stealth with hardly any actual fighting, then you should like it. Being in the Alien universe makes it a lot better than it would be in a made up one. I'm enjoying it, and most other are: METACRITIC

It's not for everyone. If you get bored playing the MGS games (which have much more shooting in), then you'd probably get bored with this. MGS is one of my favourite games ever, so merging stealth with Alien is okay with me.

I was going to post a few pics of the environment and Alien, but people may count anything as a spoiler.

It seems quite big. I've spent about 15-16 hours on it and I'm only on the 7th mission/level out of at least 14.

Sounds more like the original Thief games from TLG, which would put it firmly up my alley (fnar fnar)!

Yes, I played the first two Thief games and really liked them. I suppose it is a bit similar.

Whether a game is good or not is a personal matter.

I really enjoyed A:CM, yet other people hated it so much that they sued Sega.

Picked up my nostromo version today. Love the game so far.

*spoiler alert*

The crew expendable version I spent a good half an hour wandering around the nostromo. I love the environment of this game so much.
