The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I got the AVP 2010 game a month ago after purchasing Colonial Marines, while the Pred and Xeno campaigns were fun, I found the Marine campaign to be pretty scary at times-but good. I also liked interesting additions like the combat androids (although to be honest I think the faces could have been done better). Did you guys enjoy that game as much as I did?

i liked the game a few things could have been changed back to more the film look. but all in all yes the game is good. and the Marine story is pretty scary at times. try playing online as a Marine, when your tracker goes off and you dont know where it gets to you cuz its so dark. i still play it on and off online still trying to play ranked games tho....

Yup, still playing that one too... which is more than can be said for A:CM. Dunno why, I just haven't kept up with the latter.

Dunno who at SEGA did the design for AvP but although was a bit naff, it did sort of fit into the general EU-ish universe of the combined franchise, I thought.

I haven't played it in a while. Still own it though. Beat the Marine mode, I may have beaten the Predator
and didn't finish the Alien... because it's so frakking hard. :)

Only played one competitive game and couldn't get enough people to make it work. Hard to run an
even game with only 3 people in the room. :)

Was I the only one who stood in the darkened colony bar and stared at the holographic dancer...
for like 10 minutes?

:)

I didn't find the Alien one so hard, as just unentertaining (lots of fast-movements) and just really short.
The Predator one was brutally good fun - I was bloody invincible, almost!!

And no, you're not the only one who appreciated the holo-dancer! ;)

The holo dancer was cool-but what happened upstairs got my mind back into the game fairly quickly! I haven't been that terrified in a game since the first one I played back in 2000! Also the facehuggers are f***ing hard to hit! As I mentioned before, I found the combat android idea was interesting-especially with the cloaking ability, with a little more human face I think that would be cool to see in film.

Just imagine a group of marines fighting off a xeno attack and a whole squad of those guys show up! Could make for some interesting battles and plot twists. I wish ACM had used this concept in addition to the WY PMC's

avp was cool.i loved the infestation mode online and the pyramid map was ace but it wasnt maintained as a game and died soon after.the marine levels were rather good and a hundred times more atmospheric and down right gloomy and imposing than colonial marines 2013 but bug hunt........no comparison.the predator levels sucked and i found that was just a grind to finish that.the alien levels i actually liked.i wanted the alien to live after his sneaky birth lol

Anyone have any idea if there will be an editor released for this game-It would be great if some of us could take a shot at building new levels!

Rebellion tend to use their own in-house engines for their games. So if an editor requires the release of that, forget it!
