The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Bunch of new ships and pictures came up on the site last night. Looks like they are working hard on the retaliator. Here's hoping the cutlass gets some love soon!

If I understood what somebody said about the subscriber vault, word is the Retaliator is getting anti capital ship beam weapons as an option (instead of torpedoes)! I'm assuming this is like FreeSpace 2 beam weapons or like the Ori or Asgard Plasma Beam weapons in Stargate SG-1/Atlantis.

I've read through a few discussions and seen the pics. Seems a bit iffy to me. The pics are all pure concept drawings, nothing approved as far as I know. It does mean a "port beam weapon" but one of the citizens brought up the point that it might just be a bay on the port beam of the ship. (Although that seems a little redundant). Honestly, I think it's just the initial artist development before any kind of hard processing. Anyone remember the artist rendering of the Cutlass where it had the thruster exhaust coming out of the rear cargo door? :)

And thanks Alien for the help with the ships. Very much appreciated!

No problem at all. Thanks for letting me have a look here at the Constellation after I get home from work. I'll melt it and send send the LTI one after I've had a quick look!

Limited ship offering commlink is up:

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm ... le-Details
Quote:
As a special thank you to everyone that has got us this far, including our growing contingent of New backers, Limited ships will include LTI for everyone! However they will only be available at the original prices for early backers (Original and Veteran) to keep in the spirit of our original promise to make sure that the earliest backers would have a benefit over later backers.

The Super Hornet is not being offered now, as it was available very recently.

Monday, November 18 ? ORIGIN M50
Tuesday, November 19 ? ORIGIN 350R & Lightspeed Package
Wednesday, November 20 ? Drake Caterpillar
Thursday, November 21 ? RSI Aurora LX
Friday, November 22 ? Anvil Gladiator & Anvil Retaliator (running through the weekend)
Monday, November 25 ? MISC Starfarer

...

There will also be a limited number of LTI Idris-P corvettes available for sale to all users, offered in four allotments throughout the day to allow Citizens around the world a chance at purchasing these rare ships.

If anybody wants any of the ships at the discounted prices, I'd be happy to buy them. I'm definitely picking up a Starfarer. I would REALLY like a Caterpillar but man I just can't spend that much more money. I'll just have to get one in game.

It's definitely good that they are putting out the list ahead of time. I do think they should have announced the prices as well. It would be a lot more helpful to budget that way!

The Cat is a bit pricey. But I think it is far an away the best looking ship in the game. Interior and exterior.
