Thread started for general level discussion/help and tips, not for people who've finished it to discuss the ending.

Gen. Harris said in the main thread that he was "stuck in the roof near the start."

If that is where you need to get past two WY guards with sentry guns near them, then I can help? :)

Yes, sorry Steve that was the bit I meant. I've activated the crane so I can (presumably) walk across it but I can't figure out what to do next.

I didn't walk across the crane, I thought that just released the xenos. :)

I jumped down from just up the stairs by the crane controls, then walked between the two guns. 8)

It's pretty easy to finish even on Ultimate Badass level. The only Acheviement I haven't got is the kill all the specimens in the Queen lab

I've only played through it twice so I recon a third time and ill get that achievement ;-)

Story is good and fills in the gaps between Aliens and Alien 3 nicely :-)

Cheers

People with skill always say things are easy. :P

I'm dying at Recruit difficulty on level 2 and sometimes running out of ammo.

The xeno AI is definitely better now, with them evading fire and flanking to take me out. :)

I do short controlled bursts, but usually hit the wall next to the enemies, rather than them.

Getting the same feeling I get when playing Halo, CoD, etc: It's a long, slow slog to progress, not fun. :|

Something I have found that helps me in not only the sp for acm but others sp games as well is a few things,I do from time to time. 1st put my back to a wall or corner or hide behind cover, allowing enemies to charge me. This also gives me time to heal up and-or reload as needed. Next I will sometimes do a jump and 180 or most times just a quick 180 while going foward(usually sprinting) toward a objective or location. This is to make sure no enemies are behind me. Somethin you could do to help in acm Steve is to both these, but only start with you facing the wall, and let a xeno or 2 charge you do a quick 180 and unload on them. Doing these 3 things may really help Steve, it has helped me a lot on this new dlc especially with the new xeno Ai. I have noticed the running and doing quick turn if I hear a xeno behind me works pretty well for the AI, as the AI thinks it is free to "charge" while my back is turned.

Another helpful tip I do, which I am not sure if you is instead of reloading if being charged by a enemy is to switch to your secondary weapon or pistol to finish them off. Also make sure to use cover when ever possible. Next I find if I find a long open area/corridor/hallway I sprint for a few seconds then quickly turn around and walk back as I am being charged, this helps me to reduce any damage I take.

I do all of those, I just lack skill in hitting targets.

Anyone else experiencing the DLC seems to have a significant lag in the surface textures coming into focus?

I have to stand still for 1-2 seconds sometimes before the detail goes from PS1 to XBox360 levels with a nearly audiable 'clunk' as they snap in.

Noticed it once or twice in areas with lots of screens and such, but nothing I've not seen in lots of other games.

Well I won't be playing ANY PS3 games for a while. My controller stopped working so I took it apart to see if I could fix the problem, and now I can't get the f*****g thing back together properly again!!

Just ordered another one; life's too short man!

Aim a slight bit a head of your targets(1 character model standing up right or about 1 inch), also remember to shoot low(center mass/groin level) on a target and let the recoil take care of hitting the enemy/xeno in the chest/head. with a weapon in full auto mode, if i shoot low I am able to keep the weapon full auto and move my aim down a decent chunk and keep about 90-95% of my bullets on target. Also if you are being charged and walking backwards, you should just be able to shoot forward and hit a enemy 99% of the time. If nothing else try crouching and using this position to help your accuracy, and allow the xeno to continue to charge you.

I can only hope my advice helps another marine kick as much @$$ as I do in video games :delta: :D

Bought the DLC last night and have just finished it today. I found the extra content enjoyable and it really did help answer a few questions that had me a little puzzled from the main game.

The only part i had any real trouble with was the queens chamber where you have to run from one bit to another.

For anyone stuck on the destroy all specimens achievement, don't forget to blast the eggs hanging over the beds.

I heard Spat caught himself a cameo in the DLC. Anyone else make an appearance?
