The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm sure PVB will be able to provide a link to the thread if it's still out there.

Sorry for the delay, been working.

A lot of the pics are blocked (cos Imageshack are crap ) but the original thread is here:

I wish we could nudge and wink assurances that the font wouldn't be a tad off. But it is what it is.

But in all seriousness, interesting character. Interesting gear. The old tech manual 1911. I assume that is the new EU light weight "recon armor". Hmmm.

I could accept it if these new characters have it in white, but you can't change Hicks Hudson etc., that's as wacky as changing the paint on the Sulaco!

Unfortunately that is not the case, I noticed it when this image was first released, but thought, "Ahh, they'll change it" but according to Cruz's profile I was wrong :(

I still do not like Bella's design... its not true to the films, but neither are the other two, (Winter is as close as they have gotten) Also her name should be Pvt. Clarison

I don't like that her build is so curvy and lean, her armour isn't screen accurate, her hairstyle and jewellery. The scowl on her face and for gods sake!, WHY IS HER BELLY SHOWING???

I don't get it, I guess they are trying to go for some kind of sex appeal? I am a girl so I don't really get it, but I did find even Vasquez more appealing than Bella. Dietrich and Ferro were excellent examples of even modern military women.

Its just one more stray away from the film that I do not like at all. Especially when they continually mark the game as the most true Aliens game ever. Don't get me wrong, I am still eager to play the damn thing, but every week I get more disappointed, my expectations are diving drastically.

I only hope her personality is true to the film.

I like the design as for being true to the films in the film it was just one unit that was seen who is to say they all wore the same thing?

If those are actually ear rings she is wearing, then it is quite odd indeed. Maybe it was supposed to be a blue tooth headset or something? :?:

I would expect the glamour "meet the characters" profile pics to be a bit more tilted toward mass commercial appeal than actual gameplay. Hopefully at least? I trust that the game play versions will be a bit more gritty.

Games, like movies, are works of fantasy, and rarely nail something true to life, it's called artistic license.

Hell, even Caneron took liberties with the marines in Aliens. Ask any of the folks with even a minimal amount of training, they will tell you.

End of the day, it's Gearbox/SEGAs game, Fox trusts them with the license, and they will make the game they think will sell.

Be thankful they have made the effort on it and that they even bothered to reach out to the fan community.

If your not happy with it, make your own game.

...I was just about to write the exact thing Matt just wrote!

They could put a platoon of pink elephants in the game and it would still be a more satisfying sequel.

In other news, there's a nice nod to Lee's Manual in these bios. Cool!

Certainly didnt mean to sound like I was bitching. In my own head I thought I was suggesting explanations and keeping the faith. Make no mistake, Ive been waiting for this since I was reading the PS2 game "previews" on gamespot using dial up AOL internet. I know this is going to be great.

Yep, like I said, still excited, just lowering my expectations, thats all.

And this definitely will be the best attempt at an ALIENS game so far. I have been waiting the same as bigbisont... it's been a long time, too long!

Here here!

You do know that if we made our own game it would be so rude and innapropreat it wouldnt get a PEGI rating...just saying!

Thank you. Just be happy the game is coming out. I was at the panel with the gearbox guys at comicon 12'. They are fans of the films and only want to bring the franchise back to life as best they can. Little things like armor and uniforms and stuff are important but just like the costumes we make, we all put our own unique brand on it.

This reminds me of the AvP game thread. Where people voiced their opinions on things they didn't like and were told to shut up and be happy the game was even being made.

While i am sure this game wont turn into the utter garbage that game did, it is still just funny to see things repeat themselves.
