The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yeah, Winter says it when Bishop is examining him after coming out of cryo. I thought it was weird too.

I can imagine that originally, the plots of Infestation and Colonial Marines were to sync up, but as the story on A:CM changed when they were able to get cast members involved and I'm sure 101 other requested changes, the link between the two titles was lost.

so Sony had a problem where you could only get bug hunt by paying again, they told me today they have had a lot of complaints and though its now fixed they don't have a solution to the problem of those that paid again

I really thought this thread would have gone nuts by now, what with the DLC being released....perhaps you're all too busy playing it to post!!! I am loving it and I'll have to say that after playing a few levels, fighting off waves of aliens it's been really great practice, I went into campaign again and found that I'm now much better at it, maneuvering, swapping guns etc! It's bloody great fun!!!!

Well it is fun playing it, if you can stand waiting for half an hour to find anyone to play with. :p
Its made me mad if anything, mostly because its a game mode I wanted shipped with the game (not a fan of PvP) and now hardly anyone is playing we get a good DLC game mode.

Just on the Steam hub and actual ACM forums, think its the matchmaking which is the problem along with low player count (compared to release anyway). Easier with setting up a friends list game if you have any.
Would be good if you could pick "any" on the difficulty setting, would make it easier to find other players.

Yeah, Operation Raccoon City has a better MP search system, where you can for example search for a campaign on Pro Mode, but if the game can't find one at that level, it'll automatically search for one the level below.

"Fix the barn door after the horse has bolted" springs to mind here...... it is a shame that Bug Hunt didn't come with the game in the first place and that the overall improvements/tweaks we are now seeing weren't ironed out before the games release. I don't mean to kick the wasps nest but SO MANY people were SO excited about the game. Just reading through some threads on Youtube it seems that a lot of people bought the game, hated it, sold it and are now regretting it after seeing the bug hunt gameplay, meaning that there are far fewer players around than there should be for online co op. I wasn't an experienced enough gamer to pick at it all the niggles when it was first released, I just tried to enjoy playing it, and did enjoy it. I'm glad that I stuck with it. As I said earlier in the thread, Bug Hunt is the the ALIENS game that I have always wanted to play! It's a simple concept, holed up in a base, aliens everywhere, limited ammo, increasingly challenging......my nerves are wrecked!
Also I think now that there have been tweaks and fixes for various issues it makes campaign worth replaying again.

BTW...that's really not good that folks who bought the season pass have had to pay full wack for the DLC. Hope it gets sorted.

This I agree with 100%. The recent patch, which is, what, about a month after release, fixes a lot of the issues (especially AI) that led to the poor reviews. It does make me wonder if maybe Gearbox are getting flak they may not deserve.

Gearbox "We still got a few issues, we need a month or so to sort it"

SEGA "No delays, release it"

Gearbox "But, just a few weeks, and it'll be fixed"

SEGA "We don't care, release it"

Game's released.

SEGA "What have you done? You needed to fix these issues before you released it!"

Gearbox "What the fu-"

Yep that pretty much sums it up with me. I've managed to get one game in today but I don't think the people spoke English as in BH to get ahead you pretty much have to pool the cash together to open the doors, so it made it difficult.

Its hard to find a dedicated group of players, I try but... :(

And I agree Companyman that would be good, or better yet dedicated servers. I only bought RE:ORC a few days back on sale for the single player, didn't expect any MP and I was right. >.<

Major prob with RE:ORC are freaking glitchers "Oh look, I'm invincible, excuse me while I wander around the map slaughtering my opponents!" I accidentally glitched like that once, when I realised I was invincible, I ignored the other players completely and just killed zombies and hunters, just felt wrong to take advantage like that.

Have noticed (on the PS3) it is taking a bit longer to find MP games though, maybe they've moved on to other things.

I wonder if the patches will mean more people will pick up A:CM as the gameplay has improved?

I'm surprised to hear about the problems experienced with regard to downloading Bug Hunt. I bought the season pass the evening I read it was going to be released (Mar. 19), but it wasn't listed yet in the Playstation Store. I figured it was likely because I'm from several hours to a day ahead (Tokyo time) and it was too early. Turned out the next day it was available for download, and it was listed as FREE! :?:

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I expected to pay something for it, minus 33% with the season pass. I certainly didn't think I'd get it for free! (I bought the collector's edition of the game with other bonus DLC, but I don't think that made any difference). I have no idea what happened or why, and I just assumed everyone who had the season pass would get the same deal. :?

Anyway, I find that sometimes game codes for bonus DLC that arrive via email, and have been downloaded before the actual game's been installed, can be downloaded again from the Account Management menu (under Transaction Management), after the game itself is installed. I just download again from the Download List menu and then it becomes available next time I load the game.

There may be other issues preventing PS3 owners who've already got the season pass from being able to download Bug Hunt, but it might be worth checking your Download List menu and see if it's there or not, if you haven't already done that. Try reinstalling the pass from there, (NOT the Playstation Store) and then check to see if Bug Hunt is available at the Playstation Store (for FREE)... Wish I could offer a better solution. :|

Hi all, I'm a new member here but long time fan of Alien and Aliens.

I must say that overall, I've been pleased with the game despite it not being perfect at launch. Some of my friends who have been griping about it have started to change their tune with the patches that have been pushed. Unfortunately, due to the demands of grad school I haven't been able to get any playing time in the past few weeks--although I did just download the latest patch, and picked up Bug Hunt from the season pass. I beat the campaign within a week of release and have been going back through to find missing items, level up, unlock weapon upgrades, do challenges, etc. I'm at the point right now where I need to be playing co-op for some of the challenges, but nobody I know plays the game on the PS3... I've heard from my friends who have the game on other platforms that Bug Hunt is amazing, and would like to play. I'd be interested in finding some people to play with who have schedules compatible with EST in the USA to game with, but I don't want to deal with the stuff that goes along with playing with random people. If anyone would be interested please PM me and we can exchange PSN user names and add one another and do "friends only" games. Right now I'm involved in a week-long midterm exam that is taking the form of a "tabletop" study group exercise which the professor has been feeding info into at night ("They mostly come at night... Mostly.") so I won't be playing until after it's over most likely, but would definitely like to have a group to play with!

Thanks!

As I posted the other day, some people don't know what a season pass is; it's like buying four cans of beer for £5 when they cost £2 each normally.

So paying for the season pass means you won't have to pay anything more for any of the dlc, the cost is included in the price you paid for the season pass.

The problem with the PSN network ( Euro) was for over a day it did not allow you download without paying again

The 360 version warned me not to do that, so it looks like the PSN store system messed up.

Just don't pay for any more.

I guess the "at 33% savings" bit threw me off. I assumed that meant we'd just get upcoming DLC at a discount. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

I'm in a weird time zone (Japan), but play at odd hours, day & night. I'll play with any or all three of you for a full squad anytime we're online at the same time. Just shoot me an invite: Mudshark-USCMC on PS3 :delta:

Me too. Kemple71 (uk ps3)
I'll apologize in advance though in case I mess up. I've got a question.....In Bug Hunt I take it that players can club together funds to open doors? how does that work? I'm usually running round in such a flap that I can't read what it says when you approach doors! lol...also, what's the deal with friendly fire? I don't want to damage other players!
