The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

This game is gonna open a new world of expanded universe options and, while I admit I was hesitant to embrace the idea at first, I'm starting to get fired up. Will def be tweaking my own armor I'm sure.

does anyone have any images of prior games' non-standard weapons? (non-pulse/smartgun/flamethrower). I'm curious to see if there was much, if any, carry over and compare the weapons from this game to those of previous ones.

I actually like how Borderlands 2 has elements of both styles... You CAN regenerate, but it's usually tied to damage dealt or mag capacity, and it's an acquired ability.

Is the supposed Mk1 pulse rifle unmolested or did they monkey with it as usual like every other game developer in existence that feels they need to "improve" things? The early shots of the game showed a fairly screen accurate pulse rifle with the exception of the location of the ammo counter and addition of iron sights. The newer iterations just don't feel right, and not just because they felt the need to take a trip to Tapco to tactical the hell out of the gun. The guns are no longer brown, they're a green color that is far too light. They have rails. They have attachable red dot sights. They have far too much in the way of "tactical" mods to them, and I say this as somebody who very much enjoys shooting and accessorizing modern rifles like my old AR-15 and my newer ACR.

My thought about what they have done is about like putting rails on an American Revolutionary War era musket. You just don't do it even if it is the modern way guns are configured. The equipment should be as authentic as possible. They should have just kept it screen accurate with the addition of iron sights. It's nearly AVP2010 all over again, but not quite that bad. They talked a lot about making everything as screen accurate as possible, yet they have failed miserably with the most iconic piece of equipment in the movie.

Ambidextrous charging handles, rails, accessories, red dot sights, etc are all wonderful improvements to modern firearms. However, this is supposed to be Aliens, not the latest military combat simulator to hit the market that tries to emulate the formula and feel of Modern Warfare X, yet it seems like they have tried way too hard to do exactly that rather than making something fresh and original. You shouldn't be trying to apply modern views on practicality and ergonomics to something that is practically historical in nature. It's like making a medieval warfare movie and putting velcro on a knight's suit of armor.

I am liking the idea of weapon upgrades, I'm already thinking of fitting ghost rings to my pulse rifle!

My first system was an Amstrad CPC 6128 and I think the first game I played was 1942. Favourite game on 6128 was definitely Double Dragon, although I only had disc 1 so never completed it! :(

I'd enter, but I haven't played video games in years. I'd probably win the contest and look the fool in front of other gamers.
