The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Marines, I want a nice clean dispersal.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of both Aliens and the Polaris convention, I am looking to give the biggest Colonial Marine bang for their buck. Although I am not pitching you a ridiculously huge event such as Dragon Con, it is still Canada's largest sci-fi convention and always great fun.

I plan to get a Colonial Marine fan table, another fantastic Colony Sweep and show the world that 25 years later, Aliens is still the best damn sci-fi movie.

Please put this one on your calendar and try to make this special trip to the Great White North and celebrate Aliens with the Eh? Team.

The tough part will be convincing Mike. He's still pissed off over Toronto's liberal gun laws.

I'll show up if more Canucks show up. Yeah, Toronto sucks and so does their fruity city gun laws. Just to antagonize them, I'll bring my M41A. Also, hoping we'll see more SA armour & BDU's while the cowboy hats, red painted shoulder armour bells and totally EU weapons will be left at home (even after I offered to loan my M240, it was refused). Also, we need more liquor drinking & hot colonist daughters to rescue from their virginity!
Any of our international Marines & bugs interested?

Mike

Yeah, you'll get two silver stars to replace the one bronze one on your Hypersleep Deployment.

It isn't Toronto Mike, it's Markham. It even has it's own transit system.

No reason not to come because of your hate for T.O.

Is there an off chance that his transport from the airport in Mississauga may go through Toronto on the way to Markham?

*sigh* Really?

Well- if Mike takes a cab to the hotel, he can ask the driver to take the 407 and exit at Leslie St. This would be the most direct (and fastest) way to the hotel. The 407 is North of the Toronto city limits. However the 407 is a toll route so I'm not sure if a cab would be willing to take it (or there might be a surcharge on top of the fare itself).

Another way would be to take Highway 7 (you have to go North first but there are several ways to get to HWY 7 from the airport). The hotel itself is at the corner of HWY 7 and Leslie St. Again this is well outside the T.O. city limits (even further North than the 407), however HWY 7 isn't truly a highway as it has intersections with traffic lights just like a regular road. Because of the lower speed limit, and frequent stops, it would take longer and therefore cost much more with a cab.

Surface transit such as buses... I don't have a clue ("I" certainly would not want to take a bus from the airport to Markham- it would probably take well over an hour where as a car on the 407 would take 20 mins tops).

Not to worry sarge, I'll have the forward base camp all set and ready for the troops when they drop in. I might even have a surprise or two in the pipe for our fellow marines coming in from the long Hypersleep wink wink nudge nudge.

Speaking of ribbons, shouldn't there be a special one for the 25th anniversary year?

 Last time I went in 2009, I never even paid! I conducted the Colony Sweep and hung out in the halls the whole weekend!

On a serious note... the last time I paid, it was $15 for the costumer's pass. Show up at the registration in costume and that's it. I find it kind of odd that the prices are not listed.

I pre-registered in June this year (I think- may have been the last week of May) and paid for a weekend pass- total $60.00 CDN.
