The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well, I joined up in April '08 and the only person who has seen my fugly mug so far has been Airborne Mike, so I figured I would post a photo of myself (so there's a pic to go with the name) in case anyone bumps into me at a comic-con. The photo was taken at the Calgary Comic-Con in '07. It's too bad there aren't more marines showing up at the shows. Mike's the only one and he is usually quite busy posing for pictures! Hopefully next year I will be there in my SG costume to join the mini-battalion.
Yes, that is my face hugger tattoo. It's over 15 years old now and still holding up pretty good. Unfortunately, there is only a SMALL number of people who actually knows what the creature is. Most think it's a crab, scorpion or spider. It's amazing how many people I work with who have never seen an Alien movie  Sad isn't it?

This is one of the few pics I have with a non-chick
Seriously, Chad is a great guy with his wife Susan. By the way, she will make an excellent Ripley or Dietrich. Am looking forward to gearing up with Chad at the Edmonton Collectable Toy & Comic Show on 28 March. Great fun!

Mike

...but Mike looks the same in every picture.
Flamethrower in hand, helmet on with the same grin on his face :)

I think he's just a cardboard cut out the Canadians just carry around with them for photo ops!!!

Nice to finally see yer mug there Chad! 8)

That-

ROCKS!

A3 may have been a mess- but it was Fincher's first film after all. Zodiac on the other hand was fantastic!

Thanks guys for checking this thread out.

Thanks for the comments on the hat Kevin. You are the only one, besides my wife who understood the hat. To me, Fincher can do no wrong, I love all his movies... Yes, including Alien 3. I loved it, I got it! He did his best with what he got, and all the crap he had to deal with in making that movie. Way better then the 4th!
The Game!... Fight Club!... Se7en!... Zodiac... Panic Room!... The Curious Case of Benjamin Button! All KICK-ASS! And the video "Judith" he directed for A Perfect Circle was amazing! I can't wait for his next movie, "The Social Network"

My wife and I are planning (hoping) to make it to the Toronto comic-con next year. I hope to meet n' greet some fellow marines :D
How many of you show up for it?
What is to be expected?
Any other Canuck smart gunners ever show up?

Thanks again guys... Keep er' out of the rhubarb (trucker's lingo!) :delta:

Remember... Fincher never hurt nobody!

There's a Toronto Comic Con now..?

I recall seeing a photo of you that Mike took quite a well back... I do remember seeing your scorpion tattoo before.

We don't have any Canadian Smart Gunners yet... but we do have a guy who's interested in building one. Hopefully before 2012!

Cool pix. With ya Chad on ol' Fincher. As for Alien 3, theatrical cut – meh! But Finchers (Rawlings) cut on Quadrilogy – proof is in the pudding; great stuff. And like you I think all his other films are top notch.

I had lunch with a friend today who edits a film magazine and he'd dinned with Megan Fox some weeks back (to talk about a cover shoot) and he said she was incredibly beautiful even though she wasn't wearing any make-up.
The industry has marketed her with the fashionable, slightly aggressive 'porn star' look apparent in her facial expression (current vogue) and said he saw her in a more natural, pretty guise and was pleasantly surprised by that.
He also said she was refreshingly open and was a very nice person all round, which is nice to hear. Lucky bast**d!
Just thought I'd share since you posted that pic.
