The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm trying to sort out plane tickets now that I know where I'll be flying from and stuff. Looks like Air Canada has an interesting Paris-Montreal-Atlanta, but I'm worried about customs.

Last year, I flew Dublin-London-Atlanta, and despite the horrible laws in England, I was fine since the luggage didn't actually cross customs. Hopefully this would be the same here, but can you guys please tell me what kind of things I can't bring in case it's NOT the same?

Cheers!

You cannot bring dead bodies to be depoisited in a local empty mine shaft, we are all full up trying to dispose of our own, no Tasmanian devils smuggled in your underpants please, and high yield tactical nukes are right out... sorry

oh wait this is for the Canadians, I still think the Tasmanian Devil restriction applies

Other than clothes what are you bringing that you think would be suspect?

EDIT- I knew I had something like this saved in my Favourites:

Hope it helps a bit.

You mean, clothes are susp..

Never mind.

Well, I'd be bringing a pulse rifle, a saber, multiple sidearms... You know. All replicas, but that never stopped the Brits from objecting to it in the first place, so I wonder...

Hmm... No mention of Lockpicks or Thermite.
Looks like two of my favourite hobbies are permitted, then.....

And just how are Guitar Strings considered restraining devices???!!!!
I know us musicians are regarded to be troublesome hell-raisers, but this might be beyond a joke
Wonder what they'd make of my drumsticks......

Then again, it's illegal to import any quantity of Paprika into Hungary.... :D

Yeah that didn't exactly come out as I meant it.

The link I posted is a wee bit confusing- on one hand they say replica weapons can be in checked luggage, but contraband/illegal items are not okay period. Replica weapons are banned in Canada. :?

Urk, Taj... Shipping from overseas is more expensive than the actual plane ticket - unless I'm willing to send it by container, 2 months, no guarantee on the arrival date, etc...

Thanks for the link, Kevin. A bit unclear indeed. Guess I'll just have to call Canadian customs.

Yeah, when I saw that too at first, for last year, I was all happy - I hate lugging stuff in airports. Then I looked up the prices and cried.
