The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Want to give up some of your precious bodily fluids? Now's your chance. Do a great act for your community and get yourself a sharp new decoration for your ribbon rack.

Being that I cannot plan the day since I cannot see that thread, and therefore cannot know what that specific movie day is all about, I'll pass. Thanks anyway.

The blood drive is a UACM event, the movie day is not. Sorry if I didn't specify this.

If I could, I would be there in a second.
Maybe I'll hit the donor clinic here on the same day.

If you really want to come for a visit, come for Otakuthon... I need security volunteers.

aren't we supposed to be wearing anime stuff at that convention?

I heard buch of good of it, I just don't deal in anime costumes at this point.

I don't know - I was under the impression that GAnime was "anime and much more" while Otakuthon was "anime".

Might have to reconsider. I did meet several of the Otakuthon people over the years and I'd think there's a lot of possiblities from that convention; I just wouldn't want to be like a dog on a bowling alley.

Dang, it's a great cause but the distance is too great, otherwise I'd be tempted to help with the blood drive for sure.

I also didn't realize until now that the event I posted conflicts with this one... so I guess there's something for folks to do the same day, but in two different provinces. ;)

Best of luck and please share pics :)

I wanted to donate blood for a while, but I always seemed to get sick or had something else I had to do when there was a local blood drive! I'm not sure if I should do that the day before an event though... But count me in as interested!

I've never experience weakness or fatigue as a result of giving blood... if this is what you're afraid of, don't worry too much.

The worst thing that I ever saw was a girl was giving blood and she threw up. Her mom told her that she needed to eat 1 hr before but she should have told her that ice cream was not a good idea, chocolate ice cream that is.

I once saw a guy go pale and needed to be tended to by nurses... it all depends on the person.

I must go to a funeral at 09H00, therefore will not be able to make the original timing. Was there anyone in the MTL sector even interested in doing the blood donation? If so, we can re-schedule.

Good for you Dom!! I gave blood last month for the first time and was told I was A- blood type (about 7% of the World's pop), which I was chuffed about! Making it a regular thing now, they were VERY short at my local hospital so feel very proud of doing my part! :D

Wish I had known about the Ribbon for 'donation in uniform' - I would have been straight down there in BDU's :(

This opportunity is opened to any Int'l CM. Give blood in uniform, get your pic taken, get a ribbon. Voila!
