I plan to come down, tentatively meeting a work colleague later on in the day (and trying to convince him to check out the show  )Dunno if I'm bringing UACM gear, most likely will have my Jayne Cobb stuff with me. |

Well at the 11th hour I managed to get to this small (but fun) convention: Attachment: 579934_10151555945590041_124504092_n.jpg [ 99.68 KiB | Viewed 9069 times ] Here is a pic of all of us in the costume contest. Casper Van Dien is in the middle (Dom is right behind me next to him). The other two guest judges were Shantel Knight (in the red Deadpool outfit) and to the left of her Ashlyn Yennie (who was in not one but TWO "Human Centipede" movies  ).So anyway Dom wins the costume contest (Johnny Rico might have been biased  ) and I end up coming in third...And what does Dom do? He TRADES his 1st place award for my 3rd place one, saying I deserved it! I mean... what a guy!   Oh and at one point some random woman comes up to me and asks if I was one of the "exhibits" at the arboritum. She actually thought I worked there (the arboritum is a bit of a science center/animal display place as well). I took it as a compliment that my spacesuit looked "authentic." Magnus wrote: Ha! Awesome! Is Casper a nice guy in person? Well Dom spent more time with him than I did, but I managed to nod "hello" to him when I first saw him. He nodded back politely. I didn't get the impression he was stuck up or anything. Mind you all he seemed to do is shout quotes from "Starship Troopers" ("Kill 'em all!", "Do you get me?!" etc)... It was cool... at first. However after a while it just seemed... weird. I dunno.  Anyway glad I made it out for this one! Kevin |
