The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Okay what I'm asking is when I order from Paradestore- do I choose an Honor Guard attachment or Color Guard? Both are available.

Edit- nevermind- I see the edit in the original post now. :)

Hyperseleep- There's no numerals, so 2x doesn't get you more. Also, last time I checked... Scotland was part of the UK which is the country you live in. Sorry, only 1 bronze star.

Okay

Combat Action- Have you participated in a colony sweep?

We did one at NSC this year

All colony campaign- Sorry... this one doesn't exist yet. What cons have you gone to? Here's the list of all available: http://www.pbase.com/sharpuscm/ribbons

1x Glasgow
1x Leicester
1x London

Thanks Sarge!

Yes, yes, yes.

Okay let me rephrase this all over again (hopefully for the last time  ).

My concern was that some of us had alreadly placed an order with Paradestore for the Color Guard attachment. After which I read Dom's post about it being an Honor Guard attachment- which created a bit of confusion for me. I probably should have just come right out and directly said "I thought it was supposed to be Color Guard?" instead of being coy about it in my posts (which didn't help matters either).

Anyway the whole thing has already been resolved. (We need a "thumbsup" smiley  )

Sorry for the deviation Dom.

Back to topic. :delta:

Boy oh boy... the three of uf need our own forum to fit all of our follies!

Nice one Chris, that makes four ATTCP ribbons, three of those blood donors.

I recall having a conversation with some bozo who thought it's a good idea to run a blood drive at DCon.

I said, "85% of us our under-slept and malnourished and 25% of those have a blood-alcohol level of 0.08%... are you sure you're in the right place?"

I'll tell you what, it's not the easiest thing in the world to do (as I'm sure you know).

1. Giving blood skeeves some people out. It's not for everyone.

2. Giving blood while wearing, really, a costume... is braver still. However, it's cool when people ask about it and you explain; generally people go "I love that movie!" or "The Marines are so badass!" or they just quote lines from the film. Pretty incredible.

3. It promotes a good cause. I encourage everyone to donate, even if not in costume. I've first-hand seen the benefits of doing so while at my work, and I'm glad for it.

Off-topic, but I wish my effing country wasn't so big sometimes; I checked... it's 2,097 miles from Sarasota (my hometown) to San Diego, so that's the longest I've travelled and trooped. I want more stars on my Hyperspace Deployment Ribbon so I may just fly to Canada or... the UK.

Yeah... but if you look at Mike, he's flown to Toronto for Polaris from two provinces away, so that's quite a stretch too. Set Polaris for 2011 in your calendar... 25th anniversary baby! YO!

This is something I can never do, unfortunately. I'm really upset to have just found out that I can't give blood because of my freaking arthritis!

Ugh, I think I need a couple more ribbons. I can never figure out these awards. Atlanta colony (I have proof, I'm the one with split pants}. Hypersleep deplyment (670 miles traveled). For color guard do you mean real military or aliens costume (and do you need pics, cuz I think there are still some online...}? And what is this blood donation thing? Does it count if I donated blood in Iraq?

- I'm here to help.

Atlanta colony (I have proof, I'm the one with split pants
- That sounds familiar somehow.

Hypersleep deplyment
- Medium range is "in-country" and long range is "out-of-country", so I'll guess medium range in your case.

For color guard do you mean real military or aliens costume
- You need to have participated in a parade as a Colonial Marine.

And what is this blood donation thing?
- Aid to the Civil Power is awarded to a member who donates time to a community project or donates blood while in a Colonial Marine uniform.

Keep in mind that all these awards on the exception of about two are given when you perform some form of duty while in you are in CM uniform.

That's what I thought, I guess I was confused when Devildog mentioned he was wearing "desert BDUs". Thanks for clearing that up though.

I've re-written the entry to make it a little less complicated to understand.

Aid to the Civil Power Award:
For service to one's community or for the donation of blood while in Colonial Marine attire.

Pte Kendrick, here's your ribbon, please give me your first name, and read the terms of use on page 1.
