The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey Dom

Coulod I suggest, for those members that are interested in these, they maybe you could update the first post in this thread with details of all the different ribbons and how people qualify for them?

Cheers

Darren

Good point. :)

Mine should now be as follows;

Operations Merit (Whoring for the Boot Camp & Bug Hunt at Leicester 07)
Glasgow Colony Campaign
Leicester Colony Campaign
London Colony Campaign
Pte Chris Chulamanis Memorial Ribbon

8)

Updated now that I've read the first post. 8)

How does this work for places like London that have multiple cons throughout the year run by different companies at different locations within the city?

I did two Montreal events last year, so this qualifies as two drops. ;)

In other words it is one ribbon per city. If you do multiple drops in the same city- you get bronze numerals attached to that city's ribbon to signify the number of drops.

Bronze Numerals 2 through 9, then a bronze star for 10-14 drops, silver star for 15-19 drops and finally a gold star for 20+ drops.

That's what I though it was but just wanted to double check.

According to Wikipedia, Honiton's population in 2001 was 11,200. Can't image the town has grown that much in 7 years. ;)

Oh how wrong you are Mrs Mole... its pretty much doubled in size in those 7 years... thanks to our superb planning laws and corrupt councils. You would need a medal of valour to troop here these days, like a scene from Escape from New York. Give Darren a medal of valour for the Honiton Drop Dom!

Dom,

Been reading the posts concerning the Ribbons for all the Con activities and checked out your website for the Ribbon colors and noticed the memorial ribbon for Chris; for me it lacks a little, especially for someone of Chris’s stature within the community. I would like to suggest a slight modification to the Ribbon as follows: Black Field should remain as this represents our mourning of Chris’s passing…The border should be changed to Gold as this would represent our hearts, and in Heraldry – Gold is the highest metal color mostly reserved for royalty. Within the Black field should be FNG as this would definitively state who the Ribbon is to represent…think of the US Purple Heart…Washington’s profile. Just a suggestion…

“The Gunny”
