This is spooky - Kat and I just decided to watch Aliens, and then Gareth MSNs me just as the facehugger tries to snog Burke to tell me that Acton Power Station just blew up!

Coincidence, or something more sinister?

Yup. The large substation (the surviving part of the Acton Power Station) blew up about an hour ago. HUGE flames (~10 storeys) and loads of black oily smoke. Still burning.

My building is about 300 yrds away from it. Sorry, I didn't get any pics of the fire at it's height; I was too busy resetting the fire alarm (the explosion set it off ????) and checking on the generators.

Merry Christmas to all, and big respect to the Police, Fire and other emergency service workers who don't stop for Xmas.
