The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi guys,

I recently bought some Jungle boots from a dealer on ebay. They were listed as Black/Green, which although they are it turns out that the green was camo.

So far the concensus is that it will be okay, it's still green and will be mostly hidden anyway.

What do you guys think?

By the way, if it's decided that the camo is fine, these boots were £7.50 plus £4.50 P&P if anyone else is interested?

Thanks in advance!

Should be OK. The leg armour mostly covers them anyway... Mostly.

I wear black magnums and no-ones ever said anything to me... Suppose it depends how much of an accuracy nazi you are.

Those look exact the same as I have, similar price too I think. The leg armour covers the camo area as Fraz said.

You could always repaint the fabric using an OD spraypaint. It works fine on most fabrics (including armor webbing) so it should work on the boots. Just use a few light coats, taking care to mask off the leather so you don't overspray.

I've also OD'ed canvas belt pouches and that worked fine as well.

Hey Andy, long time no speak! Yeah, I've been working quietly in the background, but I'm HOPING to be ready for NOV NSC. I have to finish painting a friends armour for him first, and then I can concentrate on getting my costume finished off, but I'm not TOO far off!

Thanks for the advice guys, and anyone else please feel free to chime in with your opinions!

LOL!
At the risk of turning this thread into a social catch-up; Unfortunately Em won't be coming to the NSC because....get this....I couldn't believe it, it's so wrong....

Em DOESN'T LIKE ALIENS!!!!!

How can anyone not like this movie???? Especially Em, who is super-cool, loves Star Wars etc.

Still, she sends her love to you and hopefully we'll catch up at a different event in the future!

ANYWAY, back on topic... what do you think of my booties?

Er, ..............what?????

No chance of a facehugger cake then???

Tell her that ALIENS is just 'grown up' STAR WARS! :P

It'll be good to see you there.

The boots look absolutely fine to me, they will certainly give the correct 'profile' for the costume.

As others have said the incorrect camo will be mostly hidden by the armour.

and you can't complain at the price.

Cheers,

Andy.
