The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I’ve picked up two old (very old) laptops and I’m looking to get them up and running for the display area at the NSC. I’ve managed to coble together some power supplies, begged a couple of old CD drives and managed to fix the screen on one of them however I’m lacking hard drives.

Not wishing to throw too much money at the project has anyone got any old 2.5 “ IDE internal laptop hard drives they would be willing to donate ? Any size is fine.

You should be able to find a sub 20GB notebook drive on ePay pretty cheap these days. Especially since everyone wants
the 60+ GB size ones now. :)

If this "very old" laptop is anything the rest of us are familiar with (from an Aliens standpoint), I'm sure rest of us would welcome any fix up info you'd care to share. :)

Just out of curiosity, what model Grids are they? The dead ones I mean.

I can very, very easily get you as many 2.5" IDE HDDs as you want for the cost of postage.
