The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Although I missed the thread in here about the trooping invite with Reel Icons/UK Garrison for the spring comic-con, which took place over the weekend at the NEC, I managed to get my name down at the last minute and tag along (thanks James).

This was the first time I'd trooped for a costuming group, so was understandably a little nervous about that. Also because I'm still a relatively new member of UKCM and as this was the first time (that I know of) the UKCM had attended a troop invite with Icons/Garrison was eager to make a good impression.

Can honestly say though I got on great with everyone, met Andy Rowlands from here who was also attending. Finally got to meet James/Caramac and Rob/Chef. Really enjoyed myself, the guys at UK Garrison and Reel Icons were extremely friendly and treated you just like one of their own. UK Predators and Rebel Legion costuming groups were also there and everyone got on great.

Particularly liked the cakes and refreshments that were put on for us (believe me, it was worth attending just for the cake!!!!). :D

Also had the pleasure of meeting a couple of guys from the board who were attending as customers (here I must apologise, as I'm terrible at remembering names, but it was really nice meeting you guys).

Also, got to take part in the parade, which was interesting, as we walked through the hall next door which was having a photography exhibition.

Obviously, getting there at 730 to register, attend the obligatory health and safety announcements and kit up ready for the incoming crowds at 930 made it a little bit of a long day, but overall I really enjoyed myself and would definitely attend if invited again.

If I've done this right, here's a pic from the Sunday (why is it always the little guy at the back who gets jumped first???) :D

Good to meet you Simon, it was a bit of a blast of a weekend.

I'm knackered now though.

Good curry, good company.... always makes for a good weekend.

Speaking of "curry", its a bit difficult trying to play dead for the cameraman, when the Alien standing over you keeps FARTING!!!!
