The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi all

New here and keen to get started. I've posted a request for a service number but as I'm new to this board I think I need a bit of help.

I'm in Glasgow so I'd like to join Hadrian's Wall. How do I do this?

Got kit and armour ordered.

Looking forward to getting more involved with you guys.

Don't know why I never joined years ago tbh!

Alls you need to do to join, really, is come to an event with us :)
Sadly, I think the next big one is February in Edinburgh - Albeit if you want an excuse to gear up outside of Hallowe'en, I run a monthly costume-friendly club night at Classic Grand, and the theme for November 6th is "Post Apocalyptic".

There's also the Big Glasgow Comic Page marts and parties, in Trades Hall and also Classic Grand, as well as Drury Lane bar and Megabytes retro gaming café.

We're kinda spoiled for smaller events these days! :D

I was wondering about the patches. Do I need to get the UKCM one or can I wear an USCM one? Was thinking about getting one from eBay just for now then when the ukcm patches become available again, I could replace the others with these?

Cheers!

If you manage to get a pair of jungle boots that fit you perfectly, then great! They can be REALLY comfy - but from experience, getting a pair that fit that well is rare.
I persopally wear Altama brand leather combat boots.
TBH, boots is one area of the costume I definitely recommend comfort over accuracy.

I initially got myself a pair of German Army Jungle boots.

Very similar to the US version, although the sole is different in pattern and the sides are Cordura rather than canvas. They are intensely comfortable, and I wore them pretty exclusively for about a year.

Cost me about £30 off eBay. Just search "Jungle boot".

They're getting pretty beat now, been dunked in the airsoft swamp too many times and I failed to look after them... But they're still comfy.

You might be lucky... It's a lot easier to find half decent jungle boots in the smaller sizes. All the average ones (9,10,11s) were used up!
