The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Howdy,

I'm thinking about purchasing a Spulse Rifle and was wondering if anyone here has had any problems with customs?

I've heard that importing replica firearms or anything that looks like a firearm into the UK can be a bit hit and miss but i was wondering if anyone on this side of the pond has first hand experience to boost my confidence...or better yet any UK sources for Pulse Rifle kits?

I haven't heard anything bad (apart from customs charges)

If you don't have a defence againest the vcra buying a pulse rifle is illegal. You could buy a two tone airsoft rifle but if you repaint you are braking the law. None of this has been to court yet so no really idea of the fall out. may go through fine, maybe it will be destroyed or you may be charge. easyest way join a reanactment group or go airsofting to get a defence.

A spulse is not airsoft and should be OK, many in the UK have one

Like Kris said a lot of folks in the UK have these and haven't had a problem. I bought one myself a year or so ago. Presumably because it's in kit form it doesn't attract any attention - having said that I also have a few HCG Pulse Rifles and haven't had a problem with those either and they come built and painted of course. I think you'll be fine.

Law is if some one thinks it's gun it's classed as a gun. When comes to charges. You wave a stick at some one and tell them you are a gong to shoot them if they believe you could shoot them you will be prosecuted with a fire arms offence. As I said this has yet to go to court so no one really nows what would happen in court but I wouldn't want to be 1st to find out. It's more money but safest bet is to get your self a defence.

Stew is correct.

The law relates to anything that is vaguely gun shaped, not specifically 'airsoft'.

Resin kits that are in bits are less likely to be checked as they don't particularly look like a replica firearm. But you never know.

The law in itself is a joke, but HMRC are getting pretty hot on checking stuff as it comes in. Means more money for them!

Thanks for all your input guys.

going to play it safe for the moment and see if anything comes up on the board or keep an eye out for any shops restocking the snow wolf.

As you say Chef, I can understand why we have such strict laws about the import of replica fire arms but the law itself is a joke and definitely needs amending and clarifying :(

Very true.... it's not.
Then it's just an Imitation Firearm (IF). Only an "over 18" stipulation with that.

They've got rules for everything!

Yeah agreed but it also helps if its in parts but saying that My Dredd group is constently having Lawgivers sent over and they are sprayed pink they come in 2 parts and can not be mistaken for anything other than an IF even uncomplete but there has been no problems yet
