The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hello my fellow Marines

I would like to introduce myself; my name is Robert Davies, I am 48, married, IT Consultant, I reside in Basingstoke, Hampshire and only recently joined the forum.

I have been planning to get involved in costuming again, this time with the 501st as a Storm trooper. I have a fully fletch E11 Blaster project on the go (lights and sound effects) and recently completed a Doopydoos E11 kit and Hasbro conversion kit.

Over the years I have been involved with RAFSTA “The Royal Air Force Star Trek Association” and had a complete Stargate SG-1 Uniform. But since getting married and now having two small children I have given that all up, until now!

A couple of weeks ago whilst playing Colonial Marines on my Xbox, I had a thought (or impulse) to buy a Pulse Rifle (Snow Wolf) M41A.

After much searching I found that most retailers (here and in China) were sold out. But fortunately my Airsoft site (Absolut Airsoft) had one in stock. I should mention at this point that I have been Airsofting for 14 years.

After picking it up, I was hooked on becoming a USCM. And was delight to find that there is similar like mind individuals out there that feel the same way.

I have already been using the services of “Noble” from the forum and he has been very kind in picking up extra Mags and bases from Evike. Also I have purchased his mag upgrade kit.

After my holiday in October I will be looking to buy a Chef’s armor and hopefully meeting up the members of UKCM.

I used my M41A for the first time yesterday and I was a bit disappointed, but not surprised in the lack of performance. The fps is extremely high (400 fps with 0.20g bb) but the hop-up was non-existent. I thought of writing up a thread, on upgrading the internals of this AEG.

Bye for now.

Robert

Hi Kris and thanks

I do have lots of questions, but first off with regards the uniform;

I have a full set of British Army MTP uniform which I use for Airsofting, is this acceptable clothing to go behind the Armor, or do I need to stick to a US military paten?

Rob

Welcome Robert, like Kris mentioned you don't even need a uniform to come along. There's a number of meets coming up, check out the UKCM drop section at the top of the page.

Thanks Doug

I do have a question. In your thread on building your armour, you mention using a Rivit gun. Would this be suitable?

Thanks

I have just started spraying up my M41a with undercoat and adding a few mods as well.

I'm looking at a Colt 1911 on Ehobby Asia :)

Too late, the same one showed up in the also viewed items for £3.83 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POP-RIVET-GUN ... 8582&rt=nc

You do get what you pay for mind, I've found the cheap ones only last so long before the collet/jaws on them stop working very well.

Bazfish has a lot on at the moment, not least being out on the town over the weekend... I know he has some stock. But regardless, we need to do another run soon.

Anyway, welcome and hope to see you soon Rob! :xeno:
