The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hihi,

Just thought I'd best sign in / on so to speak, and say Hi.

First off, I am a member of the Emerald Garrison costuming group over here in Ireland. Primarily a Star Wars group, but hell, we have everything from Daleks to Harry Potter and Queen Elsa.
A while ago, a bunch of us (5) decided it was time the EG had it's own Colonial Marine detachment, we have a couple of Preds and a bug (with another bug on the way), and some seriously decent sets to pose on, so off shopping we went.
Primarily in Polish Desert BDUs, Spat Armour (with Splataflage and yet to be heavily personalised in most cases) - rationale for PD BDUs and Splataflage was a) funding b) uniformity for our wee det... Do need a big gun and a couple of flamers yet however... We did our first 'drop' at a fundraiser for Armagh Planetarium...

Anyway, this is me, hopefully, others from the 'det' will follow suit and sign up.

Welcome!
Looking great. Second that Polish Desert BDUs do the trick.
I like the blue lightning in the third picture.

Indeed, Vas should get her M56A2 though. :)

Hi,

Not sure we'd all make it, but road-trips are always welcome! With plenty of notice, likely one of the bigger events towards the middle / north just to make it travel-feasible with ferries etc. Would certainly be good to do an out-of-system drop sometime for sure :)

Hey again,

Just keeping her lit with you folk over in GB, so you know we aren't slacking off...

We did another 'drop' last month, in support of a major NI Childrens' Hospice fundraising week, us CMs were an element of a larger 'drop' that the EG did taking over the Octagon suite of the King's Hall, EG raised in the region of £12k. Rations were Dominos pizza and coke...

Anyway, couple of pics (more Blue lighting, seems to work and we like it :) ) of the squad minus, latest addition will be a 'Drake' signing on soon!

Well...

Almost a year and we're still hunting bugs...

The Emerald Isle's Colonial Marines just executed a successful 2 day Drop to the Eikon Centre in Lisburn (on the site of the old Maze Prison) in support of the NI Childrens' Hospice this weekend past... Sadly Vas was AWOL, but Drake made his debut.

Image

New recruit Colin (yet to sign up on these boards I have to say...) is 98% there with Drake, and yes! There is a Smart-gun on the build... Until then, he's improvising...

Image

After a good sweep for any survivors of Eikon-1115, we did find some specimens in stasis...

Image

Image

But then the Praetorians found us...

Image

A battle ensued...

Image

Which we were winning.... Until the Queen turned up...

Image

The drop was part of a bigger Emerald Garrison event in conjunction with U105 Radio Station and the Hospice, and after costs (hire of hall etc.) end total was £10,342 raised.

Roll on Alien(s) 5, We're hoping on a new set, with all sorts of wee goodies n girders n stuffz :) Speaking of props, here's the latest addition made by one of the squad (JT)...

Image

Tha's about all for the moment. Now prepping for Belfast City Comic Con this coming weekend...

Closing note, if anyone in Ireland wants to get involved, give us a shout, ya'd be only too welcome.

Keep 'er lit you's
See you next time.

Post Belfast Film & Comic Con drop today...

I'll just post one pic for this..

Image

Jennette & Mark also signed a photo with the pair of them as Vas & Drake which we're going to auction with the proceeds going to Charity (Likely NI Childrens' Hospice following on from last weekend). Cracking couple of people, and the craic was strong especially with Mark.

Keep 'er lit yous.

Hiya,

Yes, Every chance! We'll hopefully be there from the get go.

Not sure what set will be as DCC is trying to do something a bit different with it being the 30th etc. Karl in the pic above runs the show and Vaz is staff, so I'm sure we'll get some good real-estate for props etc.
