( Also, remember, the discounted roomshare thingy only applies to people who are actually working the event - So if you're not doing so, I'm afraid you need to srt your own accomodation.

If you have a job at the NSC that weekend ( Helping with the AE or the firing range etc. ) then yeah, the cost of your room would be added to the total, and split between everyone going...
Not sure if the hotel does single rooms though, do they?
Or are you coming with someone?

I will be coming with Julia and the kids i will help out both days , where ever you need me , the kids will at last get a chance to see the NSC .. also if you have room i can bring along some props / blueprints from Alien / Alien 3 and tons of other stuff if need be for display

Ok as it was pointed out to me , some one may not like the fact that i am bringing my family and trying to get the room discount to this event ,
so to avoid someone having a hissy fit over me bringing my family and getting a room discount , i will book my own room and pay for it out of my own pocket which i will book over the weekend

The idea here is that everyone working the event gets the best possible deal as a group.

If this was just one person and his family to add I’d just let it slide, add the costs to the total and no one would be any the wiser. However we’re setting a precedent for anyone else that wants to bring family to this event, what we do for one we have to do for all the others.

So what we will offer is a half room discount, we will discount Glens part of the room just the same as everyone else working the event. However he will have to pay for the remainder.

Fairest way to do it.
As I was going to post last night before Kev spoke to Glenn first:

"Glenn, since you'll actually be working the event, we can let you share the discount for YOUR place - i.e. we add half of the cost of your room ( Family rooms cost the same as doubles anyway ) to the UKCM total, and add you to the list of people who are sharing.

This means that you'd be paying £36.50 for your wife and kids' share of the room, plus your £7.36 discounted share of the £176.50 total room cost that's now being split between the 24 people who are working the show and sharing the discount."
"Sorry if this seems a bit beaurocratic, over only a couple of quid, but we'd prefer not to set a precedent whereby a whole load of other folk also decide to bring their families along and bump everyone else's costs through the roof!"

"Please, everyone else be aware, we are setting a cut-off date of August 1st for anyone else who DOES want to join in the group discount. If your name's not down by then, then sorry - You'll have to make your own arrangements."
