I was going through my wardrobe this weekend and found my old Royal Marine Lovat uniform.

The colour is the marine serge green. With this a stone colour short sleeve uniform shirt and the jacket.

Can these be used/modified as C class uniform? Just a thought

Cheers

Keith

We wouldn't stop you wearing it, as that's not how we roll... That said, almost everyone else uses either a genuine US service-C blouse, or ( My personal preference due to comfort ) the Dickies workshirt that's closest in colour and cut.

Up to you :)
"Right" is subjective when it comes to the UKCM... As the guy who slagged off Sandy for carrying an SA80 whilst wearing armour and DPM found out, upon getting verbally bitchslapped for his rudeness by a certain Mr T Steedman Esquire.

Hi Keith

One way of looking at this costume choice is how accurate do you want to be ? If you aim to look exactly like Gormans uniform does in the movie then you need mod the shirt (change the collar etc etc) get the various patches that he wears right down to the last little detail.

If your going for a "near to" then some of the details can be left out such as the belt that goes on the trousers, the Hat the Ribbons etc etc it also depends on what sort of budget your working to as doing a full blown Screen Accurate costume can be more expensive than you might originally think :-(

The beauty of this club is there is no specific way of presenting your uniform that will stop you from turning up at a Drop and participating in the event. I have seen the guys wearing all different type of Cammo, armour, weapons at the various drops I've attended but no one will ever say "you can't wear that its wrong" ;-)

Best advice would be decide exactly what level of uniform you want to do and then do your research on the boards there is stacks and stacks of info on here that will help you along with your Uniform build :-)

Hope that helps

Cheers

Thanks for the advice on that. As far ad my armour and BDUs are concerned Ill probably be looking to be as accurate as I can possibly be. As far as dress uniform is concerned, looking at Gormans uniform in the start of the film, I think Ill get a close but not complete match. I think its a good way to recycle my old lovats. Im anticipating the the armour is going to take about 12 months, depending on cash and time. But Im confident the end result will be up to scratch.

Thanks again

Keith
