The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi guys, just a quick line about some paid costuming work next Tuesday 29th October in Birmingham. An extras agency I work with is looking for men (sorry ladies) with sci fi costumes for some scenes at at sci fi convention for bbc1 daytime soap 'doctors'. It is paid extras rate, somewhere around Selly oak. If interested drop anne@celex.co.uk a picture of you in costume and she will forward to production. Good luck.

Ps, don't forget to mention my name if you do. (Martin fox)

I'm tempted just to see how a sci-fi convention featuring in any daytime soap can be anything other than excruciating but I need to work on Tuesday. :(

My mate's one of the script editors on this, G...

He got Sylvester McCoy in to play the ex-children's-TV sci-fi star, who's character was a time-travelling lollipop man.

There was also a cracking episode where everyone was locked into the medical centre because, basically, the T-Virus broke out inside!

Is "Paid extras rate" still around £75 per day?
Can't remember, but I don't think that normally includes travel expenses - It did on one job I did a while ago, but that was kinda a one-off.
Food's normally bloody good, too!

What with your lack of time machine and all ;)

Did anyone from here make it to Letherbridge Scifi Con? :)
I hear Craig Charles and Chris Barrie might have been there...
