Just wondering if anyone has delt with the seller mooncrestmodels on eBay. I see they sell the marine helmet camera, mic and the 2 back plates on the helmet. Just wondered if he was a respectable seller as with many forums they advise to avoid eBay.

I think i have a copy of there Colonial Marine Helmet Camera. It've very good, but the round part of the camera housing is too oval than round. Other than that. Great work on it. =]

Just remember that some of these makers are ether re-casters or make them hand built. I'm not saying that Mooncrest are, to confirm. But you're best looking and starting an interest in the BasePX if you can accesses. =]

I've only made a few posts so can't access the basepx section yet. I was asking the question really as I don't want to upset members by purchasing from recasters and a lot of people say avoid eBay because of this reason unless its a genuine seller

I recently purchased the earpiece/mic set from them via ebay. I also made a similar enquiry to yourself in the chatroom and no-one could tell me any "horror stories" or reasons NOT to purchase from them so I went ahead.

The item came quickly and very well packaged and although I've not built it yet as I am still assembling all the parts for the build the assembly instruction sheet provided seems both clear and concise. The listing also states it was moulded from an Alien War Helmet.

In conclusion they have a Positive Ebay Feedback of almost 1500 (100% Positiive in the last 12 months) with only 2 Neutrals and if you read them they really shouldn't be Neutrals in my book but that's just me. All of which is no mean feat especially in a field where some buyers are known to be very "picky".

I have a Helmet Cam I bought second hand, and I'm happy with the moulding etc.

Good seller, not recasters - they make their own stuff from scratch AFAIK. Which means the items might not be 100% accurate, but are well made, nicely packaged and ethically sound on the recasting front.

Just looking through my Ebay Feedback History to find something else and noticed that Mooncrest Models are no longer a registered user on Ebay. Their Feedback is still 100% for the last 12 months no sudden rash of negatives at the end as so often happens in these situations so no idea why they may have left Ebay?

You can follow them on Facebook like I have been doing, I know their having a few problems with eBay and PayPal which is owned by eBay at the moment.

I have baught off them in the past and they have been so helpful and friendly.

Good to hear they are still out there and it appears it's just Ebay/Paypal issues!

Another Internet Monolith that needs taking down a peg or two IMHO!

Did they get spanked for the Doctor Who items? I do not see any except the Dalek parts and movie doctor in progress. Right before DragonCon I ordered their new Tardis keys. Rich was great enough to bring them over for me. I have not heard of anyone having any problems with them but I am over here. Do not know why the ebay store is closed and PayPal account frozen.

Thanks!

Greg
