Hi all As per last year the UKCM will have a Display area. This will involve a display of props, NERF range etc Please copy and paste the list below and add your names if you are willing to help man these. This will be done in a shift pattern like last year and I will liase with Skapunk so that we don't clash with anyone in the AE. I have added the names from the AE list who already said they would do this. Friendlyskies Skapunkninja Padsbrat Boltrig Vito Woody Mattb We will need props to display and NERF guns etc and also Costumes/Mannequins If anyone has anything they can contribute please add to the list below. Display area list i.e. Friendlyskies - PulseRifle If anyone has any ideas on other activities that we can do then please feel free to let me know. Cheers Darren |

Hi all Thanks to all those that have volunteered so far. Anyone else please feel free to put your names down. The more we get the less time people will have to actually spend manning tables etc. At the moment the 3 main things that we need stuff for are Display of props etc Nerf Range Airsoft Range Prop display: I would like to make up some signs for some of the items being displayed. With that in mind I think a display of all the weapons and hardware used in the film would be good and then another display next to that with more stuff like Models and Facehugger repros etc. If people could copy and paste all the lists below and add their name and or items they can supply where appropriate I would appreciate it. Wait wait wait haud the bus! I suggested an Airsoft range a few years back, and got shot down ( No pun intended ) because of H&S concerns... That was why we ended up going with Nerf in the first place. Do we actually have the OK to do one this year? |

Maybe they mean airsoft range of replicas? I'll bring my SA 80 A1 along which got a lot of favourable comments last time. |

I have asked if we can do one yes. A risk assessment will have to be done to make sure it is done safely. This is one of the things I want to look at when we go up ahead of the event. Let's not make a big thing of it though and risk having it shot down before it's given a chance. Cheers Darren |

No bother. So long as nothing chronos over 360fps, and we have a soft backstop ( read "sheet hanging down" ) to stop rebounds, we should be fine unless someone's got a personal problem with it. |

What he said ^ I'd be fine with bringing my SA80 for a firing range too. If the range is inside, we'd need the entire length on either of the two halls (Preferably take the divider out?) To help with the H&S assessment, I propose that only those actually firing are allowed onto the range at any time. (Unless we can set up a perspex viewing window/wall? Sorta like the Mythbuster's "bullet proof" perspex collapsable wall.) We should also limit it to one punter per marine on range? |

Thanks Sandy , the SA80 would be good thanks. Boltrig, I think the M16A3 would be fine. That should be all we need. Let's keep this thread just for the lists though please so it doesn't get muddled up with discussion about other things. Good points though Sandy. Like I said we'll look at where to put it and how safest when we go up at the end of July. I don't forsee any problems though. Cheers Darren |
