Feel a bit rank today too, though I put that down to the carrot I shared with Wierzbowski!

I want to thank all you guys for doing a great job yesterday. I don't know if anyone will post some pics here, but
for anyone that doesn't know, the living room of my house was turned in to a film studio for the day so that we could film
Trevor Steedman presenting the beginning of my documentary about Aliens fandom. It was an amazing transformation
and after the disappointment of losing the Movieum as a location, I think we turned the situation around for the better.
I'll say one thing as fact: Couldn't have done it without any one of you guys. If just one of you had not been there it just
wouldn't have worked out.
Darren. Was ill the whole time but managed to put in the hours under the hot lights in full costume not to mention
being Trevor's chauffeur. Darren has driven Trevor on a couple of shoots now and that helps Trevor feel good by showing how
much we appreciate and respect him. Darren is also our 'hero' marine in his fine TE armour.
In armour, Darren owns you all! Sorry but it's true!

Andy Gardener. Andy lent me his tripod. Without which I would have been f@^*ed. Cheers mate. I owe you some JD. If I
can ever get it away from Darren, lol.
Gareth. Did so much I dunno where to start. Picking up Harry & the lights, the Dolley, taking Trevor home last night and
driving me in to Central London so I could return the radio mic. Not to mention helping Woody & PVB suit up as Aliens.
Not to mention be Abe under intense heat for some long takes. Not to mention helpful technical support.
Not to mention loads of driving, packing up and returning hired gear. Not to men...
...you get the idea. Total star!
I just got a text from Gareth. It's 8.50pm and he has just got home the DAY AFTER the shoot. Like I said, total star.
DATA. His birthday. Worked his arse off. Kept his eye on the Aliens DVD to make sure we were filming the laser at the correct
speed, which was essential. Helped out across the board, always helpful and stepped up as a marine. Always in a good,
chirpy mood and a pleasure to be around. And after all that drove back to Somerset which always takes a good few hours.
Many thanks, man. You have stamina that's for sure.
Russell. My bro was here at the weekend picking up the laser and haze machines with me, the back drops and controller,
all in hard cases which we had to struggle with on the train. Then he went back in to London to pick up the radio mic.
And was there to help me plan the shoot. Also arranged the camera without which I would have not shot much of this
documentary footage. Wish you coulda made the shoot. You rock.
Simon. Obvious choice as foreman. Si just gets things done and would do well on any film set I think. Solved all the little
problems right away – got the drapes up with minimal damage, operated the laser and overcame the problem of it scanning too fast.
Was always there to help and that's on top of being Alan T. Alien in extreme heat and trying not to pass out while we were
turning over. I was so glad you could get down for this and you had such a long drive back at such a late hour – can't
thank you enough me old china.
Harry. Once again H was there with a wealth of lighting experience and know how. Just gets on with the job, takes the piss
out of me when I need it, reminds me to check that I'm getting sound, is a great technical help and basically just did a great
job lighting this. It really did look good. It was a tricky one to do with Trevor's dark clothes and a dark background, but you
pulled it off. On top of this Harry was also a marine! Along with G, Harry stayed over and helped to clear up and pack up in the
morning which was a job in itself.
Woody. Our newest UKCM member and already party of the family. Had a great time (I think!) as Axl T. Alien and was always
there to help. In a few hours Woody managed to be an Alien, be Trevor Steedman's sweat wiper(!), hold torches awkwardly
for additional lighting of our Aliens and be there for just about anything you needed. Was there to feed Trevor his cue cards at
a whim. Oh, and regarding your bike, I am quite jealous!

PVB. Steve, really glad you took photos and video. Great to have the day documented with pics. Steve was the only one to
play two parts as a marine and an Alien. That's a lot of costuming and really no break from the hot lights. Only Trevor spent
more time under the lights. As an Alien he had to perch himself on a flight case the whole time – not easy with no vision.
Actually, I think Steve is quite hard as I didn't see him flinch once under those conditions and I know it must have been
difficult for him. Respect due mate.
Actually, not a crew member was wasted. I was the only one not to appear in costume so that just shows how hard people
had to work. We didn't have enough hands on deck for this type of shoot and taking that in to account we really got a lot
done in a short time. You need people for film shoots, lots of people, bottom line.
So really well done, chaps.
Most of all, I am grateful to have made such great friends with you all. That is the best bit of all.

Cheers,
ADC
P.S. my house is f*@*ed now.
