Hi, just bumping this topic from hyper sleep. What is the current thinking re taking replica weapons in hold luggage now?
My costume only has a resin pistol, (nothing like your pulse rifles) but I've read differing reports about whether they are allowed. I wouldnt want to fall foul of heathrow security, or atlanta on the way back, thus ruining what will be an awesome trip. Do you declare it up front with security, or pack it away and hope it doesn't show up on any scans. Or as one implies earlier, don't bother taking and avoid the hassle?

Don't bother, simple as that. Avoid ANYTHING that will attract attention or generally piss off especially the American authorities. If you do attract their attention expect a major delay at best and loss of your prop with NO chance of return and NO sweet talking or circumstance will budge them.

As for our border authorities... i sometimes think you could ride a nuke in like Slim Pickens and the only reason they MIGHT bother to stop you is if they want to break it or think you have not paid VAT or duty on it!

My poor Zippo. What a fucking joke as you can take on a pack a matches and a gas lighter but not a zippo.

I find having no weapon better as a weapon add weight and movement between hotels out on the street. Just have a war face on.

One of my costumes carries a revolver as well as a regular sidearm. Either though will suit both costumes, whichever can be got. Appreciated

What I was asking was that Barettas and Glocks are handguns/automatics (modern sidearms) not revolvers, so I was guessing you wanted a modern handgun and/or a six-shooter revolver, not just revolvers?
