The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So where exactly did I say I want to buy UKCM patches ?

I want to do a small number of Private patches for a few friends.

Edit:

oh fantastic....well as this post may have caused a storm which was not my intention i do apologise .may i ask mantroon if i could ask said company to produce a lion, rocker and delta for my bdu? I will not be using them for any shady issues other than some home displays.i would very much like to attend a drop in the future but as im a registered full time staff nurse this will present issues...oh and the new born lol

thankyou.again apologies for anyones feet i may of stepped on.sorry osmotic...i naturally presumed that you wanted ukcm patches as private patches are easily accessible on ebay for 1 pound where as an embroidery site would cost you allot more.i hope the other people on this discussion take all these factors into account.

Rodent... The guys are saying they want to control the manufacture and issue / sale of the UKCM patches... This way, they know people who are wearing their badges and by default coming under the same banner they are...

So, attend an event and once they know you, they'd be happier allowing you to be one of them.

To be fair, the users if this site, UKCM or otherwise, are fairly relaxed and I can understand their stance. They've politely asked that no-one takes it upon themselves to produce a run of badges. I think it is testimony to their approach that we don't see hordes of UKCM badges on eBay... In fact, I'm not sure I've ever seen one...

Anyway, I can see you were being keen and were trying to get a run of badges made up... Or at least offer a possible UK based source of badges... As the original thread seemed to ask for recommendations...

It's a misunderstanding on stance, protocol and intent and I do not believe anyone meant any harm.

EDIT - I can see whilst I was typing this it was all resolved anyway!

Cheers for the links TtaskMaster and Chef - looking to get a Squad badge made up for my airsoft team too. Wanting only 6 however I imagine they'll be a fair amount as one offs

Osmotic - had any luck with yours yet?

Not neccecelery...
At least one of those I posted accepts single one-off patch requests.
They get a lot of patches for Rallies, birthday bashes, memorials and so on, all from small clubs of less than 15 members.
A big-ass Backpatch for 'A well-known Motorcycle Club' will cost a bomb, but a tiny little 2" x 1" thing with some writing on will cost a pittance. You'd get a blazer-sized one for perhaps £2 or £3... Less if you find one of their mobile stalls at a show/rally and get them to make it up there and then.

All this confusion and grief is down to me... sorry guys.

To explain: I have always been responsible for the ordering and sales of the patches designed by Mantroon and the group. We sell them on a "round figure" basis with any excess going into the charity pot.

Problem with this system is twofold.

1. To keep costs down to a minimum I have to order the patches in large quantities... which always ends up with me having a surplus of the more "unique" patches.

and

2. When i run out we have to wait until there is sufficient demand for all patches before an order can go in.

This system is not ideal but as you will find when you get quotes small runs will increase the price substantially... also it is a pain having allot of patches in stock as it is money tied up and going nowhere... as a non profit and non subscription group there is no kitty for such projects so it has to be funded by individuals.

Finally... real life pressures have caused me to take my eye off the ball lately.. for that i am sorry.

Back to the pub?

Yes Baz I’s all your fault, I’ll be expecting financial recompense.

Loses 3 patches £65 x 3 = £195

Seven posts in this tread £355 x 7 = £2485

Mental anguish = £27,576

Costs and legal advice = £100,345

Total = £130,601

Paypal is fine

Is there a thread to see if there is demand for patches? I know for one I would like to put my name down on the next run of patches and T-shirts

Kris - I know that... It's been made clear to me I'll be welcome whilst kit deficient... and for that I am grateful... My problem is my OCD... Once I've got my BDUs I'll be a lot happier... They're on order and paid for...
