Hi Steve
Have taken some photos for you and attached below.
Bit of info on each item:
Cap: This is an RUC (Royal Ulster Constabulary) cap. This is identical to the original in terms of shape and peak angle but is a darker green. Emblem is the EGA (available on eBay) Chin strap is a matt black and is held on by Silver/Chrome Blazer buttons as per the original. On the original these buttons are held on by stitching but I have used split pins inside for ease of removing.
Trousers: These are also RUC issue. They appear outwardly identical to the original. Once you start looking inside however the differences are apparent.
NOTE: The original Cap and Trousers are the same colour, which is a lighter green than these but appear darker on screen so these are a good bought alternative, whilst still looking accurate. The only outward difference of note is that the belt loops on these are larger than on the original. The originals appear to be custom made. It looks like they have used the RUC cap as a base and then re-covered it with the same material they made the trousers from or they have made it from scratch, can't tell for sure. Either way these looks as close as you will get with bought items.
Belt: The belt is a plain black belt with a two inch square buckle. The buckle is gold on the original as per this photo. I found this belt on a market stall for a fiver.
There does appear (from screen caps) to have been two different style belts used though, one plain like mine and one with a basket weave but still the same colour etc.
The shoulder rank bars I bought on-line from the U.S.
Shoes: I am just using some plain black shoes for this. I think Jungle boots with a good polish on them would be fine as well though.
Shirt: The original shirt is made from 100% Cotton Drill fabric. Same thing; a lot of work wear is made from which is why it looks and feels quite heavy. It is a light khaki colour.
Again, the original was custom made. I bought two cotton service shirts and used the second one to cut up and make new sleeves, pockets, pocket flaps and collar from. Removed the epaulettes and Bob's your uncle.
I think more easily available Nylon type shirts would work fine as well of course but you can't find any with
A. A Mandarin collar
B. The correct angles on the pockets and or flaps. Some shirts have angled pockets but straight flaps and others vice versa but none seem to have both or not at the same exaggerated angle anyway.
I think that covers it. Any questions just ask mate.
Let me know your head size and I have a cap you can have already and I can pick up some RUC trousers for you tomorrow if you want them bud.
