The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hello All!

Looking for someone with an Alien costume for an upcoming production for a TV pilot. Its called "NPC" (non playable character) and is being produced by a director who has had some good results in the past. I am currently the producer for the production and we are sourcing people and props for the upcoming shoot.

If anyone around Edinburg/Glasgow/Dundee has one or has access to a form of aliens costume or anything close/related to it and would be interested in being part of a production then please drop me a line either here or via my email michaeldwaite@hotmail.com

Cheers!

MDWaite

Please, please don't misunderstand my tone in this post...

I am co-leader of the UKCM, which consists of most of the UK Aliens Legacy members who costume. In that position, I have a duty of care for my people and fellow Xenos.

We have been involved previously in productions that treated us well and delivered on whatever was promised. However, we have also experienced mistreatment, lies and damage to costume/props in these situations.

I would encourage anyone interested in taking up this opportunity to talk directly with Michael and ensure that requirements, hours in costume, and any expenses and compensation are satisfactory and likely to materialise.

I think, with the right amount of organisation you could have an entire troop of us.

Glasgow and Edinburgh are the playgrounds for the Hadrian's Wall arm of the UKCM. Including Rex, we have 4 Xenos, a Predator and a squad strength number of folks with armour or alien related costumes.

I'll leave it to the boss to get in contact :)

Interested, once the prerequisite conditions and guarantees of kit safety/insurance are met!

The email was sent on behalf of the entire Wall Crew, as always when there's an opportunity for us to be involved in anything I prefer to make sure it's legit before I actually bring it directly to y'alls attention.
So yes, of course we'll let you know if you're needed - As per G's initial response, and the ( As yet unreplied to ) email I sent, we'd only get involved in a UKCM/Wall capacity once satisfied that everyone taking part would be properly compensated in the event of any loss or damages, after previous incidents wherein myself, Bri and other costumers have been left out of pocket by unscrupulous film-makers and organisers of other projects who are unaware, or uncaring, of the amount of time, effort and expense that goes into making the costumes, as well as getting their owners/performers to the locations on which they plan to use them.

I will step up and say, knowing Mike and having worked with him twice on low budget projects. He is a good guy, though young, his heart's in the right place, and he has talent. He does take care of kit generally, or has someone specifically do it. Usually the owner of said equipment. I'd assume if he's looking for an alien costume or similar then the owner would be in it:)

(and if he screws up I'll kick his ass for him;p)

Livingstone.

Sir, yes Sir. The Private has been informed to update his comms, Sir:)

I know he's got a couple of projects ongoing, along with a trip overseas, so likley they're what's holding him up.

And nah, he's not Andy's bro. Oh well.

Hi Guys,

Firstly, my deepest apologies for not getting back! Thing have been going 3 ways to Sunday with many projects and events occurring recently I have been backlogged in emails and, very rarely, It goes completely over my head to not reply! I assure you...this is a very rare thing for me to do! I have read the email in complete understanding and will respond when I arrive at my destination (currently travelling to other side of the world atm) to ensure its properly detailed.

Now things are coming down to a reasonable level of magnitude, I have the time to sort everything out. With a few projects recently (one of which axeman was involved in) time has been short :P

1- Yes we are still interested, and I need to have a proper discussion with the director taking on board the recent concerns you have raised, so please give me a few more days to get that before expecting an email.
2- I COMPLETELY understand all of your concerns, and can relate on many ways as I have been used by charities for photography events...and the bloody buggers have not only damaged my kit but not respected my needs. As this is the case, if we agree with any of you to do something...it will be to the highest level of requirements! I do not do these half-arsed university student projects where half of them have not even lifted a camera.

As AxeMan said...he will personally kick my arse if there is any problems, and knowing his array of weaponry in his barracks...that would be a bloody mess! I will reply in detail to the email to give an update as soon as possible, once I have all the answers to your questions confirmed. Primarily of this is the budget allocation, as that is currently something we are working on in the next few weeks. We would not dare ask anyone to be out of pocket, unlike many places! I will at least give an update and a response once settled in the sandpit I call Dubai!

Apologies for the delay...and thanks for the interest!

Just an update, will drop an email response probably tomorrow. With the time zone diferences I have been having trouble getting a convo with the Director but managed to get most concerned raised. In short...the scenes are short, well planned in a safe environment (office mainly) and expenses will be covered (to what degree we will not know until we complete the budgeting stage in a few weeks time).

Been shooting the local arabs with air soft pellets yesterday, so that was one day taken up haha. Lets just say, I think they store their balls in theirs wife's purses!

Will be in touch tomorrow

-MDW
